Altenew March Release Blog Hop II + Giveaway

Today I’m so excited to participate in Altenew March Release Blog Hop with so many amazingly talented crafters!!! It’s always a great pleasure and honor to be a guest at Altenew!

Altenew released 15 stamp sets and 13 die sets, which are now available in the Altenew store.
The stamp and die sets, which I had the pleasure to play with for today’s cards, are Garden Treasure, Hug Me and Extra Special.


I’ve created two cards with those new stamp sets.


My first card is featuring Garden Treasure and Hug Me stamp sets. How cute is the fox standing with the big and bold sentiment! The cute fox was the love at first sight :). And I wanted to put him in a flower field. To start off I stamped the fox with Hug Me sentiment in black and the small flowers from Garden Treasure in yellow and pink for no-line coloring along with lots of masking. I then colored the flowers and the fox with Copic markers. I blended green Distress inks on the bottom part after masking all the flowers, added white accents on the sentiment and the stamen of the flowers, and then clear heat embossed the fox with sentiment with the help of Misti tool.


I then stamped the long sentiment in black and clear heat embossed on some yellow cardstock, cut in a curved arrow and gave it to the fox to hold. I added tiny pieces of clear foam under the yellow sentiment strip to give it some dimension. I trimmed the panel slightly smaller than A2 size and foam mounted it on a gray card base. To finish off I added clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and the long sentiment and scattered some pretty sequins.


On my second card I used the inlaid die cut technique to make the front panel. First I’ve cut a partial panel with a curve like the shape of the flower stamp from Extra Special stamp set with my Cricut. I stamped the flower branch again on another white card stock, flowers in yellow and leaves and stem in green, and colored it using Copic markers. I used only the outline image, but this stamp set is also for a layered stamping. I die cut the colored image using coordinating die. I die cut the edge of the front panel using the coordinating die as well to inlay my colored flower in it.


I then made a soft watercolor background. For that I stamped and white heat embossed the flower of the Extra Special stamp set on some watercolor paper and colored the panel in yellow and green. I added gold splatters on it and foam mounted the front panel. The sentiment was gold heat embossed on white card stock on which I dabbed some yellow ink using finger dauber. The sentiment was glued on a strip of gold glitter paper on the bottom of the card. To finish off I added a few sequins to give the card a dreamy look.
