Hello everyone! Hope your June has started off great!
It’s time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge! In June we are having a color challenge- Navy and one other color.
I chose coral as my second color. I would have liked to add gold to them, as navy, coral and gold is one of my favorite color combinations 🙂 . Recently I’ve gotten a beautiful floral outline stamp with a personalized sentiment from Altenew. A huge thanks to Altenew for this lovely gift !!!
And here is my card I made using it!
I started off by making the background watercolor wash using Gansai Tambi watercolor. For navy I used the colors Nr. 64 and 66. To make the coral I mixed white, red and a bit of orange. After the panel was dry I stamped the floral image several times in a black pigment ink and added more navy shades to the leaves using Copic markers. I then splattered white opaque ink on the panel.
I then stamped the flowers again on a separate Neenah solar white cardstock in Memento black ink. I colored the flowers in Copic R30s. The stamen were colored using a white gel pen. After the coloring was done I fussy cut the flowers and set them aside.
Next I started assembling the card. The background panel was trimmed down and foam mounted on a white cardbase. The fussy cut flowers were placed on the flowers of the background panel using foam tape. The sentiment from Reason to Smile set was added to the card. Some Satin White sequins were my finishing touch.
That’s it from me! I think navy is a very elegant and classy color and goes with many other colors beautifully! So hope you’ll give this a try and enter your projects into our gallery !

I have just realised that since your blog has changed I don’t get your blog come up the list to alert me that you have posted anything and so I have missed a few things on here. I have now re-entered your new details so it is working properly. These sweet pink beautifully coloured flowers are so pretty TaeEun and I love the way the blue background fades out towards the bottom. A wonderful design. x
Wowwzers! Another stunning card TaeEun and I absolutely love the background and the way it blends out. Your coloring is always amazing and I love your inspiring designs! Beautiful job my friend!
Awesome card here TaeEun, it’s just amazing! 😉 hugs Viv xx
What a beautiful way to use that gifted stamp, TaeEun. I’ve pinned it to give me a starting point to use mine. I love the idea of stamping on the card base and then placing colored blossoms on top. It adds pizzazz!
TaeEun, I love the bright contrast of these beautiful pink flowers against that blue background, I especially love the watercolor wash on this panel, I can never get this technique right, I always end up with a muddy mess, I think I need to practice more.
XO
another gorgeous card!!
