Today I have a couple of cards featuring some items from the Blooming 2022 Collection by Penny Black to share with you.
The first card is featuring the Blooming (40-850) cling stamp. This is a bundle of simple flowers. My first plan was to no line watercolor the flowers but it didn’t work well and I ended up drawing the outlines afterwards 🙂 .
I stamped the image on a watercolor paper panel in Antique Linen DI. I stamped it two times filling the two thirds of the A2 sized panel.
Next I watercolored the flowers in orange, yellow and pink. I also colored the blue sky and green ground and let the panel dry.
As I didn’t like the look of the no line colored flowers, I decided to draw the outlines and folds in the petals using 08 and 03 Micron pens.
I trimmed down the colored panel and foam mounted it on a white cardbase.
The sentiment from the So Thankful (30-914) set was white heat embossed on a vellum banner and added to the card.
I finished off the card with a few clear iridescent sequins and a tiny butterfly which was cut using the Soaring (51-731) die set. I cut it from a scrap piece of watercolor paper and colored it in yellow.
The second card is showing the Here’s to You (40-843) cling stamp with the chic lady holding a glass of martini.
I stamped the image on a slimline sized Neenah solar white panel in Tuxedo black Memento ink and colored it using Copic markers. The blue and purple dress were colored in B00, 04. 06, V01, 06 and B79. For the hair I used E43, 44 and 49 and for the skin E00 and E11. The pumps were colored in B79. I drew the dots on the dress with a blue Copic marker and a white gel pen.
I added shadow on the ground in C00, 01 and 02 Copics and ink blended the upper left corner of the panel in Salty Ocean DI.
I cut the colored panel using two dies from the Slimline Zig-Zag (51-733) die set and foam mounted it on a white slimline cardbase. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I stamped it in black, cut it with a speech bubble die from the A Pocket Full (51-053) set and added it to the card with some foam tape.
I added tiny light blue rhinestones on the pumps and on her scarf and the card was finished!

These flowers are beautiful TaeEun and the added black pen work looks great, also the very elegant lady holding her martini and such pretty colours for her dress and love the zigzag stitched frame too. x
