Pinkfresh Studio January 2023 Challenge – Year in Review

Today I have a card to share which I made for the Pinkfresh Studio January 2023 Challenge! The theme of this month’s challenge is Year in Review. It means you can pick one of your favorite challenges from the last year. All the challenge graphics are below. For my card I chose the April 2022 challenge with the theme “Geometric Shapes” and with the pretty Spring-y color palette!

For a geometric background I used the Mirrored Triangles stencil and the Nested Rectangles Hot foil plate and die sets. I stenciled the hot foiled Detailed Leaf in the colors from the challenge graphic.

I started off by hot foiling the Detailed Leaf in gold. I also made the negative foiled piece using the Solid Hot Foil plate. I stenciled the Detailed Leaf in Ballet Slipper, Soft Lilac, Fresh Pear, Summer Shower and Seaside which I picked based on the color palette of the challenge graphic. After stenciling I die cut both of the Detailed Leaf using the coordinating die and set them aside.

The Mirrored Triangles were stenciled in Fresh Pear and Summer Shower. I ink blended the colors very lightly. I then trimmed both sides of the background panel a bit and foam mounted it on a white cardbase.

To make a frame for the Leaves I hot foiled a rectangle in gold using the Nested Rectangles hot foil plates and die cut it into a frame. I added the rectangle frame to the background using foam tape and arranged the two branches as shown in the picture.

The sentiment is from the Modern Script Sentiments set. I hot foiled it in gold and cut it using the coordinating die and added it to the card using foam adhesives.

I finished off the card with a few Gold Metallic Pearls.
