Hello, everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far.

Today I’m on Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog with a beautiful watercolored floral card. As you may know, Pinkfresh Studio is going to introduce new watercolors. This exciting release is coming soon and I want to give you a sneak peek of these vibrant new watercolors 🙂 !

To begin, I pressed the floral image of the Amazing Things suite onto a Pinkfresh Studio Watercolor paper panel using the press plate and Detail Black ink. As Detail Black ink is watercolor-friendly, you can use it for watercoloring!

Next, I watercolored the image. I colored the flowers in two tones – pink and orange. First, I colored the flowers in Bubble Gum, Coral Reef and Marigold and added Clementine and Raspberry Bliss to darken the base of the petals. The base layer of the leaves was colored in Sky blue and Lavender, and I added Stargazer for some depth.

Once I finished watercoloring, I die cut the image using the coordinating die.

To create the background, I cut Pinkfresh Studio watercolor paper into an A2 panel and watercolored the outer part of it in Sky Blue, keeping the center uncolored. I then made the perimeter darker using Stargazer and Sapphire. To enhance the ombré effect, I ink blended the perimeter again using the same ink colors.

For added texture in the background, I cut the panel using the Ornate Medallions coverplate die and splattered white opaque ink on it.

I adhered the background panel flat on a white cardbase, arranged some white branches which were cut using the Curvy Leaves die, and foam mounted the watercolored Amazing Things image to it.

The sentiment from the same set was pressed also in Detail Black. I die cut two more sentiments from white cardstock, stacked them, and adhered it on a vellum heart cut using the small Shaker Heart die.

To finish off the card, I scattered five Starry Sky Ombré Glitter Drops.

That’s it from me for today! Hope you enjoyed the making process of my card!

Have a crafty day!

  1. TaeEun, I love your variety of colors in these lovely florals and leaves! I’ve been embracing blue lately!

I’ve recently purchased a selection of Pinkfresh inks – my first! If asked, why would you prefer these watercolors over coloring with their inks as we do when using Distress inks? I’m very curious! Thank you! [you have my email address! x]

  2. The colours are beautiful TaeEun as is the watercolouring with them on the very pretty flowers, and the tones of blue over the Ornate Medallions Coverplate die cut background really pops, and I love the addition of the die cut Curvy Leaves just in white behind the wonderful coloured flowers and leaves, and finished perfectly with the die cut black with white shadow layer added to a die cut vellum heart..a lovely finishing touch. x

  3. Beautiful card! I really love the blue background and the white branches! Beautiful watercolouring as always!

  4. Beautiful! Enjoying all the beautiful color changes and shading that is uniquely, watercolor. So excited for this release when available.
