Hello everyone!

Today, I have a couple of cards in a simple design to share with you.

For the first card I used a branch die by Penny Black called Dignified (51-821). It’s a delicate and realistic branch design.

To start, I watercolored a rectangle on a watercolor paper panel by masking outside of it. I picked an elegant color combination : dark bluish gray and gold. I first colored the rectangle in Payne’s gray and black and added gold watercolor here and there. After the panel was dry, I dry embossed it using the Dots & Dashes embossing folder (65-020).

To add more interest, I cut the rectangle using a die from the Zig-Zag stackers (51-714) and adhered the rectangle and the negative piece to a white cardbase. I cut a white frame using two dies from the Zig-Zag stackers (51-714) set and foam mounted it to the rectangle.

I cut the Dignified (51-821) branch from some gold mirror cardstock and twice from heavyweight white cardstock, stacked them together to make the branch more stable, and added it to the card using foam tape.

The sentiment from the Brighten the World (31-056) set was heat embossed in white on a piece of black cardstock.

To finish off the card, I scattered a few golden flatback pearls.

The second card features the Idyllic (40-932) brushstroke cling stamp. I stamped the floral image multiple times in blue and purple as a background and heat embossed one more image on the top of them in Liquid Platinum.

For this card, I used Bristol smooth paper. I partially inked up the cling stamp in Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet and also in Crushed Olive for the leaves, spritzed clear water on the stamp, and stamped the image. I went over the image with a damp brush to blend the ink. I repeated the process three times, filling the upper left area of the panel. After the panel was completely dry, I stamped the Idyllic image again in embossing ink and heat embossed it in Liquid Platinum.

Next, I ink blended that corner with the same Distress inks I used to stamp the image and cut the panel using a die from the Sewing Stackers (51-651) die set.

I stamped the sentiment from the Brighten the World (31-056) set in black and foam mounted the panel slightly tilted on a light blue cardbase.

Creating simple cards is quite hard for me, even though I love CAS card designs and admire the super talented CAS cardmakers out there !

I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards, as I tried my best 🙂 !

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Love you all!

  1. TaeEun, your attempt at creating clean and simple cards was very successful – though far from simple, my friend! While each one is elegant and extraordinary, your gorgeous grey and gold was a clear winner for me today! You have a style all your own!
