Hello and Happy Friday everyone!
Today, I have a holiday card and a New Year’s card to share. Both of them showcase the Heartsong (31-086) stamp set from the Christmas 2024 Round One collection by Penny Black. This clear stamp set features two large images, which I used for my cards today. For the sentiment, I used the Shimmering Peace (15-018) Stick and Shine set from this collection.
The first card features the branch with berries from the Heartsong (31-086) set.
To start, I heat embossed the branch image three times in white on watercolor paper. Since I planned to make a mini slimline card, I cut the watercolor paper into 3 1/2″ x 6″
I watercolored the background first, using purple and cerulean blue, then colored the leaves in various shades of green. I cut the edges of the watercolored panel with the rectangle die that has a distressed edge from the Slimline Medley (51-718) die set.
The sentiment is from the Shimmering Peace (15-018) Stick and Shine set. I transfered the sticky sentiment to the watercolored panel and foiled it in silver by rubbing the foil onto the sticky sentiment.
I foam mounted the panel onto a white slimline cardbase and colored the berries with purple Pico Embellisher.
The second card is a New Year’s card.
I stamped the branch with the bird in Vintage Photo distress ink on watercolor paper and then watercolored it.
I watercolored the background in violet and added the sentiment from the Shimmering Peace (15-018) set, using purple foil from the Blooming foil collection (21-003).
I adhered the watercolored panel directly to the white cardbase. For a more wintry feel, I cut a piece of violet cardstock using the snowflake border die from the Spirited (51-721) die set and added it to the left side of the card with foam tape.
Three purple rhinestones were my finishing touch for this card,
