Hello everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start!
Today I’m up on the Pinkfresh Studio Card blog with a soft floral card featuring the Playful Petals product suite. To create this card I followed the theme and color palette of the October Monthly Challenge ! The theme is Ink Blending, which I used for the background and also to stencil the main floral image. You can see the color palette for the challenge in the graphic below.
To begin, I pressed the Playful Petals in black on Neenah solar white cardstock and started stenciling using the coordinating stencil set. The pink flowers were stenciled in Cherry Blossom, Peony and Marigold; the small yellow flowers in Sweet Mustard and Marigold; and the leaves in Turquoise, Sky Blue and Grassy Knoll.
Once done with stenciling, I cut the image using the coordinating die.
To create the background, I first ink blended an A2 sized white panel using the new 1″ blending brushes. For the middle left part, where I planned to cut with the Nested Elongated Ovals die, I used Sweet Mustard and Marigold. The other parts were ink blended in Cherry Blossom and Peony.
I then cut the oval window using the Nested Elongated Ovals die and cut the negative piece with the Dotted Chevron coverplate die.
I adhered the yellow oval piece directly to the white cardbase and foam mounted the negative die cut panel.
Next, I added the stenciled image. In the Playful Petals set, there are also dies for the large flowers. I cut them out, curved the petals slightly upwards, and added them using two layers of foam tape for extra dimension.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set, pressed in black.
To finish off the card, I scattered a few Iridescent clear drops.
I hope I was able to inspire you to play along at the October 2024 challenge! Ink Blending is an easy theme, right 🙂 ? One entry will receive a $50 gift card to the Pinkfresh Studio Store! All entries, both card and memory keeping, are eligible to win the prize!

This is really pretty TaeEun and I love the ink blended chevron pierced coverplate background and the off the edge elongated oval cut out with the beautiful flowers over the top, and the stamped and die cut sentiment looks great over the top. x
