Hello and Happy Friday, everyone !

I’m sharing this wintery Thank You card on the Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog today.  I created a wintery background using alcohol inks and hot foiling, and arranged a floral cluster in white and gold. I wanted to test if hot foiling works on an alcohol-inked background, and as you can see below, it worked flawlessly !

To start, I created the background panel using alcohol ink cardstock. I colored the panel liberally with rubbing alcohol and alcohol inks, blending them using a blower. I chose teal blue and light violet alcohol inks, adding a golden one for extra shine.

Once the panel was dry, I applied gold foil to the alcohol-inked panel using a brayer. The gold foil sticks to areas where the alcohol ink was concentrated.

Next, I hot foiled the Radiating Snowflake onto the panel in gold, placing them on two diagonal corners.

After that, I cut the panel using three Nested Hexagons: Double Stitch dies, creating a thin frame and a small hexagon piece from the center of the panel. I foam mounted the frame and the central piece and adhered the remaining sections flat onto a white cardbase.

To create the floral arrangement, I lightly and partially stenciled the Garden Party using Ocean Breeze and Hydrangea inks, then cut the panel using the Garden Party die. I also cut it from gold mirror cardstock.

I arranged my floral cluster by combining the stenciled and golden flowers and leaves, as shown in the picture.

The sentiment from the Here For You Sentiments set was hot foiled in gold, cut with the coordinating die, and added to the card.

To finish, I scattered a few Metallic Gold Pearls, and the card was complete!

Have a crafty weekend!

  1. I’ve missed [and still covet] your gorgeous alcohol inked backgrounds, TaeEun! I’m shocked that the ink stands up to the heat of foiling! This one is so pretty – and so are your Wintery-white flowers!

  2. The inked background is fabulous and I love the way you have cut it with the hexagon dies and then the added stencillling and beautiful white and gold flowers and leaves look wonderful…a brilliant thank you card TaeEun. x
