Hello and Happy Friday, everyone!
Today I’m sharing a Hello card on the Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog featuring the Happy Hummingbird suite from the Pure Bliss release,
I chose warm autumnal tones – yellow, orange, brown and yellow-green – for the image and placed it on a dark olive green background in an ombré fashion. A dark background helps your bright focal image really pop, making it more eye-catching !

To begin, I heat embossed the Happy Hummingbird image in Liquid Platinum on a white panel. Using the coordinating stencil set, I colored the image. For the florals and the hummingbirds, I chose Sweet Mustard, Apricot, and Mango Sorbet and for the leaves, Bay Leaf and Sage. To add even more depth, I softly brushed darker tones into the center of each flower with a ½” blending brush and gave the hummingbirds a warm, golden glow on their bellies with Warm Buff ink. Once the image was complete, I die-cut it and set it aside.

For the background, I started with a yellow panel and ink blended Sage, Eucalyptus, Spruce Tips, and Lush Forest, keeping the panel darker towards the edges. Next, I dry embossed the panel with the Scalloped Grid coverplate die for subtle texture.
I fussy cut the scalloped border along the background panel’s edge, then adhered it to a kraft card base using foam tape. The die-cut image was also mounted with foam tape to the card.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the Classic Correspondence stamp set onto a vellum banner in Liquid Platinum and added it to the card. As a finishing touch, I placed three Sparkling Champagne Metallic Pearls, their subtle shimmer complementing the warmth of the color palette.

I love how the warm tones bring a cozy autumn feel to this card, and the dark background enhances the look of the focal image. I hope this project inspires you to try rich color contrasts in your own designs!
Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you a wonderful and creative weekend! ✨

Beautiful card! I really love the colours with the dark background! Have a great weekend!
The hummingbirds and flowers image is beautiful TaeEun and I love the colours you’ve used, and the dark green around the edges of the background contrasts wonderfully well, and then the lighter green in the centre adds a lovely warm glow behind the sentiment, and the metallic pearls finish it perfectly. x
