Today’s card features the Twilight Tales suite, the Sparkle Stitches coverplate die und Heat Resistant Acetate from this release. I wanted to highlight the whimsical Twilight Tales image by layering it over a transparent acetate panel for extra dimension and interest.
To begin, I hot foiled the Twilight Tales image in black on a white cardstock panel and colored it using the coordinating stencils in following colors.
- Books and Leaves: Sky Blue, Mint, Aquamarine, Summer Shower, Coral Reef, Lavender
- Light Bulbs and Stars: Sunshine, Marigold, Apricot
Once stenciling was complete, I cut the image with the coordinating die and set it aside.
For the background, I lightly ink blended the edges of a white A2 panel in Sky Blue, cut it with the Sparkle Stitches coverplate die, and adhered it to a white cardbase.
Next, I trimmed a piece of Heat Resistant Acetate slightly longer than A2 size. I hot foiled a sentiment from the Twilight Tales Press Plate in black at the center of the acetate, then scored the top edge and secured the folded flap to the back of the cardbase with double sided tape.
The Twilight Tales image was foam mounted onto the acetate. To finish it neatly I die cut another Twilight Tales silhouette from white cardstock and adhered it to the back, hiding the foam tape.
For embellishment, I scatttered a few Blush cleaer drops on the acetate for a touch of sparkle.
The Heat Resistant Acetate is such a versatile product—you can hot foil, heat emboss, create shakers and use it as cardbase ! I shared a shaker card yesterday where I heat embossed a sentiment directly on the acetate. It’s definitely a fun addition to your crafty stash!

I love the design of this card TaeEun with the stamped Twilight Tales which makes a wonderful frame around the edge of the card, and die cut and attached to a piece of acetate over the top of the coverplate background for a wonderful effect, and finished with a fun and very apt sentiment too…a brilliant card! x
