Hi, everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start!

I’m sharing a thank you card with a whimsical, folk art feel on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today. This card features the gorgeous Swan Reverie product suite from the latest release. This suite includes a stamp, press plate and coordinating stencils and for today’s card, I used the press plate and hot foiled it in gold to add an elegant and enchanted touch to the dreamy Swan Reverie design.

For the background, I kept things soft and airy by watercoloring a light blue wash using the new Premium Liquid Watercolors, just enough color to let the white swan truly shine.

I began by hot foiling the Swan Reverie press plate in gold onto a panel of Premium Watercolor Paper. I painted a gentle ombré wash of blue across the lower half of the panel using Sky Blue and Seaside Premium Liquid Watercolors giving the swans a serene place to rest.

Once the wash was completely dry, I moved on to coloring the Swan Reverie image with the coordinating stencil set using following ink colors.

After stenciling, I die-cut the finished panel using the largest Single Stitch Rectangle die and mounted it onto a white cardbase.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled a greeting from Lush Elegance in gold, then die cut it and layered four additional die cut pieces behind it to create sturdy dimension. I also ink blended a strip of white cardstock with Lavender and cut it into a banner using the Basic Banners die set to give the sentiment a solid mat.

To finish the card, I scattered a few Gold Metallic Pearls for a touch of shimmer and elegance.

Soft watercolor washes offer a subtle, seamless background that connects smoothly with your focal image. In my card, the soft background wash helps the white swans shine without adding any harsh contrast.

Thank you for visiting! I hope my card sparks a little inspiration for your own creations.

Until next time, happy crafting
