Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week !
Today I want to share three cards I made using a lovely die set from the Shining Wings collection by Penny Black. This die set is called Layered Bloom (51-818) and I literally fell in love with it 🙂 ! This set has one base die for a flower and two upper layers for the petals.
For the first card, I made two white flowers with a hint of pink on the tip of the petals.
I cut the Layered Bloom (51-818) two times from Neenah solar white cardstock and ink blended the tip of the petals in Saltwater Taffy and Kitsch Flamingo Distress inks. To make the flowers steady, I cut more base layers and layered them, adding the second and third layers of the petals to them. Before that, I curled up the small petals for some dimension.
To create the pink background, I ink blended several pink inks on a white panel making it bright towards the center. I then cut the panel using a die from the Zig-Zag stackers die set (51-714). To add some shiny interest, I used a pattern from the Border Bliss (15-010) Stick & Shine set. I applied the sticky pattern to the ink blended panel and transferred the purple foil from the Blooming Foil Collection (21-003) onto it.
Next I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Brighten the World (31-056) stamp set and splattered white opaque ink on the background panel.
Lastly I foam mounted the background panel to the white cardbase and arranged two die cut flowers on the card using foam tape as shown in the picture. To finish off I adhered soft pink rhinestones to the base of the flowers.
The last two cards have started from an alcohol-inked Yupo panel that I made using red alcohol inks and the gold Mixative.
I cut out the base layer of the Layered Bloom (51-818) from the alcohol inked panel and inlaid a white base layer in its place. I also cut the petals from white cardstock and added them to the flower.
The sentiment is from the Brighten the World (31-056) set. I stamped it in a curve in black and cut it into a thin banner. I stamped the word “gift” on a piece of white cardstock and cut it using the die for the second layer of the Layered Bloom (51-818) set to cut it into a leaf.
I adhered the sentiment banner and the leaf to the stem.
The butterfly is from the Shining Wings (15-015) Stick & Shine set. I transfered the sticky butterfly to white cardstock and foiled it in gold using the Blooming Foil Collection (21-003). I then fussy cut the butterfly and foam mounted it to the card.
My finishing touch for this card was a golden enamel dot for the flower.
For the next card, I used the flower which was cut from the alcohol-inked background panel. I cut the second and third layer of the petals from another alcohol inked panel and assembled the layered flower.
I cut three more base layers of the Layered Bloom (51-818) from some white cardstock and stakced them all under the alcohol inked flower layer to give the flower some dimension.
To create the white background, I cut a panel using Leaf Stitched Frames (51-552) die and added the branch from the Shining Wings (15-015) Stick & Shine set by applying the gold foil from the Blooming Foil Collection (21-003). I applied red glitter to the dragonfly from the same Stick & Shine set instead of using foil.
The sentiment from the Brighten the World (31-056) set was stamped directly on the cardbsae in black. The front panel was then foam mounted and lastly the flower was added to the card.
As you can see, I had a blast playing with the new Layered Bloom die and the Stick & Shine sets 🙂 !

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed looking at my cards!
TaeEun
TaeEun, this is such a darling bloom and it’s clear you had a blast as each card is stunning! It’s also very nice to see some of your incredible alcohol inking again – this last flower using the negative cut is positively spectacular!

Such sweet cards! I really do love the shiny on the first card 🙂 And I love that leaf stitched frame on the last card!
A beautiful flower die and three gorgeous cards TaeEun, and adore that bright pink on the first with the interesting zigzag stitched mat and the softly ink flowers with a lovely matching gem centre and white embossed sentiment, and then the next two using this wonderful red and gold alcohol inked panel, and such a great idea to cut the flower for the second from this piece and use it to add on the third, and the white inset flower layer with added layered flower pieces for dimension on the top really pop against the bright red. I love that gold butterfly, and then the red glittered dragonfly goes well on the third and another terrific ornate leave motif on the mat, and also some pretty gold foiled leaves make a wonderful background. x
