Hello, everyone! I hope you’re having a great week so far!
I’m sharing a fun holiday card on Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog today. My card features the Holiday Bicycle and Radiating Snowflake suites from the Magical Holiday Release. I used an untraditional color scheme for a fresh and young look.
I started by stamping the Holiday Bicycle image in Detail Black. I then stamped it again with embossing ink to heat emboss it using clear embossing powder. I love the shine and dimensional touch that clear embossing adds.
To stencil the bicycle, first, I chose four basic colors: coral pink, purple, brown, and blue, as I wanted to use the Overlapping Triangles stencil for my background. Keeping those colors in mind, I began stenciling.
I didn’t stencil the elements on the stencil in one color; instead I selected different colors for each element on the stencil. Below is a list of the ink colors I used:
- Bicycle: body – Lavender, Hydrangea; seat – Warm Buff; wheel – Opulence
- Scarf: Coral Reef, Passion Fruit
- Presents: Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, Sky Blue, Lavender
- Cake: Warm Buff, Coral Reef
- Holly and Mistletoe: Spruce Tips, Lush Forest, Candy Apple
After the stenciling was done, I cut the images using the coordinating one-piece-die and set them aside.
To create the background, I stenciled the Overlapping Triangles in Sky Blue, Warm Buff, Soft Lilac and Cherry Blossom. Next, I hot foiled the Radiating Snowflake in Icicle, which is transparent with subtle shiny particles. I hot foiled two snowflakes, offset on the upper left and lower right corners.
To add some dimension to the background, I cut the panel using two dies from the Blanket Stitched Rectangles die set. I adhered the frame part directly onto a white cardbase and foam mounted the central rectangle.
Next, I added the bicycle. To make it sturdy, I cut four more bicycles and layered them together. The small elements were added to the card using foam tape.
The sentiment is from the Magical Holiday stamp set. I heat embossed it in white on a piece of dark purple cardstock, cut it into a fishtail banner, curved it, and added it to the bicycle. I wanted the sentiment banner to look as if it were blown by the wind 🙂 !
To finish off, I adhered a few Blush and Amethyst Glitter Drops to the presents and to the sentiment banner.
That’s it for today! It wasn’t easy to choose four basic colors for the background and the bicycle, but I’m glad it worked for me! I hope you liked my card too 🙂 !
Thank you so much!

TaeEun, this is so fun and festive! Good thing you mentioned those snowflakes, or I would have missed them – so subtle but such a pretty touch!
LOve the triangles, too!

Super cute card! I really love all the subtleties in the background – those snowflakes are gorgeous and love the triangles!
What a fabulous and fun card and looks wonderful with the stencilled overlapping triangles in those pretty colours and the added presents and leaves and berries also beautifully coloured, and the layered ornate blanket stitched rectangles show it all off perfectly..love the curvy fishtail banner with the lovely sentiment and gems down the side to finish. x
