Hello everyone!
Today I want to share a couple of holiday cards featuring two adorable stamp sets from the Christmas 2024 Round One collection by Penny Black: Hearth (31-074) and The Star (31-087).

The first card showcases, in addition to Hearth (31-074) and Hearth Cut Out (51-839), the Classy Frames (51-826) die set and Melody (65-006) embossing folder from this collection.

To begin, I stamped the main image of the Hearth (31-074) set. I stamped the tree in Antique Linen and the rest in Vintage Photo Diestress mini ink, and watercolored the image.
After finishing the watercoloring, I cut it out using the Hearth Cut Out (51-839) and set it aside.

To create the background, I first ink blended a light blue A2 sized panel in Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon, Wilted Violet, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot making it darker towards the edges. Next, I embossed the panel with the Melody (65-006) embossing folder and attached it to a white cardbase.

Since I wanted to frame the main image, I cut two white frames using the Classy Frames (51-826) die set and foam mounted them on the card with foam tape as shown in the picture.

I then added the image to the card with thin foam tape and covered the star at the top of the tree and the flame of the candles with yellow Stickles to add some sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Jolly Builder set (31-066). I cut a curved strip and placed the sentiment on a stamp positioner in a curve to match the strip, then stamped it in black. I cut the strip into a banner and adhered it under the image with foam tape.

For the next card I used Jolly Edger (51-829) and Jolly Builder set (31-066) along with The Star (31-087) and The Star Cut Out (51-845).

I started off by stamping the image of The Star (31-087) in black on watercolor paper and watercolored it.

Once the watercoloring was finished, I cut the image using The Star Cut Out (51-845) and set it aside.

As I used pink to color the girl’s clothes, I picked a dark pink cardstock and cut it using the edger die from the Jolly Edger (51-829) set. The “jolly” sentiment was cut four times from white cardstock, stacked together, and added to the dark pink panel.

I foam mounted the background panel onto a white cardbase and added the watercolored images using foam tape. The subsentiment from the Jolly Builder set (31-066) was heat embossed in white on a piece of dark pink cardstock, cut into a banner, and added to the die cut “jolly”.

  1. Such adorable cards! I really love how you did a double classy frame. And I love the bright pink background on the second card – it’s such a perfect choice!

  2. First off, your no-line coloring is just amazing, and I love seeing it here today! I stamped that The Star image at a friends’ house last week… she is much more adorable in your talented hands, TaeEun!
    Two adorable Christmas cards!

  3. I love the sweet bears on the first and then the cute little lady with the mouse looking on, on the second TaeEun and both beautifully watercolours, and with two very different backgrounds. I’m loving the blue tones ink blended on the first and the added music embossed in the background, and then the double frame beneath the cute pair. The pink card on the second is really pretty and the large die cute ‘Jolly’ contrasts perfectly in white and what a great idea to us an accompanying die to cut above the shape across the card revealing the white base card..so crisp and clean. x
