Hello everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start!
I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog today with a fresh and playful floral card featuring the Dragonfly Dreams and Simply Said product suites and Square Play die from the Simple Things Release.
For this card, I wanted to give the Dragonfly Dreams florals a completely different look. I cut the original floral clusters apart and rearranged the pieces around the Square Play background to create a loose floral frame. The softly ink-blended green background keeps the design fresh and airy, while the gently curved dragonfly wings add a little extra movement and dimension.

I started by pressing the Dragonfly Dreams images twice in Espresso and coloring them with the coordinating stencils in the following colors.
– Moon (not used): Sweet Mustard, Clementine
– Flowers: Waterfall, Coral Reef, Lavender, Sweet Mustard, Clementine
– Leaves: Grassy Knoll, Eucalyptus, Bay Leaf
– Dragonfly: body – Doe ; wings 1 – Sky Blue, Coral Reef/ wings 2 – Lavender, Waterfall
Once the stenciling was complete, I die cut all the images with the coordinating die and set them aside.

For the background, I ink blended a panel in Grassy Knoll and Bay Leaf, then cut it with the largest die from the Dotted Nested Deckled Rectangles die set and adhered it to a white card base. I die cut the Square Play panel from white cardstock, stacked it with two additional die cuts for dimension, and added it over the ink-blended background.

Next, I cut the two Dragonfly Dreams floral clusters through the center to create four separate branch pieces. I arranged these around the card to form a loose floral frame, using foam tape for extra dimension. I then added the dragonflies, gently curving their wings upward before attaching them so they would have a more dimensional 3D look.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Simply Said sentiment in Espresso, die cut it, and layered it with two additional die cuts. I cut a white banner with the Basic Banners die set, added it to the lower right corner of the card, and placed the sentiment on top.
To finish the card, I added a few Leaf Clear Drops for a subtle touch of shine.

Don’t be afraid to cut apart a larger floral design and use the individual pieces to create a completely new composition. I cut the Dragonfly Dreams floral clusters through the center and rearranged them to form a frame around the card. To add even more movement and dimension, I gently curved the dragonfly wings upward, making them look as though they are hovering over the flowers. Together, these small changes give the design a more dynamic and natural feel.
I hope this card inspires you to look at your floral designs in a new way and have fun creating your own unique arrangement!

This floral cluster works beautifully cut into two pieces TaeEun and the colours you used are so pretty, and perfect added over the green toned ink blended background and with the Square Play coverplate die in white, and some lovely finishing touches with the gems and stamped and die cut sentiment. x
