Seize the Birthday #181 – Stencils

I’m not good at using stencils for my cards. So this topping was challenging for me. Fortunately I remembered that I have a stencil and the matching stamp set by Penny Black. The stamp set is a simple floral branch, called Softly (30-319) and the stencil is Promenade (25-001)


I white heat embossed the Softly image two times on a Canson XL watercolor paper panel. I applied lots of water on it and sprinkled Orange and Lemon Yellow Color Burst powder on the flowers. I moved the panel to blend the colors and sprayed pearl water on it. I helped the colors go on the flowers with a brush and let the panel dry. I colored the leaves in Sepia.


After the panel was dry, I stenciled the Promenade image using Nuvo Glimmer paste on it and let it dry.  The sentiment is from Good Wishes (30-541) set by Penny Black. I stamped it in a black pigment ink and clear heat embossed. I trimmed down the panel and foam mounted it on a kraft cardbase. I finished off the card by adding some clear iridescent sequins.
