Hello friends!

It’s time for the first challenge in June at Seize the Birthday! The new Toppings option was chosen by Lindsey and she wants to see nautical elements in your birthday projects! As always you may enter any birthday themed project if you want to!

As I don’t have any nautical stamp except for the Wave layering stamp by The Ton. I made a cut file for an anchor to use with the Wave.

I cut the anchor from a Yupo sheet I had in my stash. It’s colored with alcohol inks in purple, blue and green.

The Wave was stamped in Soft Ash, Periwinkle and Miami Cool (The Ton) on a white cardstock. I kept the wave subtle as a backdrop for the anchor. I cut the panel with the largest die from Double Pierced Rectangle A2 Nested Die set and mounted it flat on a white cardbase.

I tied an ombre twine in blue and purple to the anchor and foam mounted it on the card. The sentiment is stamped in Noir and Grape Crush using Easy Expressions Birthday set by The Ton.

That was my DT card! Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from our new Surprise Party guest Melanie Hungerford from Cards by Melanie and my talented team mates!

Thank you so much for looking! Hope you’ll play along 😊 !

  1. This is a fabulous card with the large wave in those pretty colours and the anchor die cut using a piece of beautiful alcohol inked yupo…such a clever design TaeEun! x

  2. I think I love your card the best out of all the team this challenge. It is so artsy and refreshing and I love your take on the nautical theme.

  3. A M A Z I N G!! The wave background and the colors make it look like that anchor is actually splashing from atop a giant wave!! I love how that looks! What a great choice of colors for the alcohol ink as well! I’m in love with this whole card!!
