Hello everyone ! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
Today I have a floral card to share with you! It’s already time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge. The technique for this month is Paper Piecing.
I did use this technique for my projects maybe only two or three times so far. It’s not a hard technique to do but getting a design idea took a while for me.
I chose a large floral stamp, Large Peony5 by The Ton and paper pieced each petal on it.
I started off by heat embossing the Large Peony5 on a white cardstock in Rose Gold. I gold heat embossed solid leave stamp from Large Peony4 after masking the peony. I then watercolored some scraps of Canson Mixed Media paper in Wisteria, Peony and Lemon Yellow (Color Burst). I stamped petal by petal on the area with the shade of color I wanted, fussy cut them and glued them on the heat embossed panel.
To make a pink background with a bright halo around the main image I blended Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet DOX on the border of the panel. I spritzed pearlized water on the panel and dabbed it off with a paper towel. For a finished look I cut the panel using the biggest Double Stitched Rectangle die (The Ton) and mounted it flat on a cardbase. The hello was cut from a Gold foil paper and from white cardstock to raise the golden hello word. To finish off I added some sequins from Smoked Amethyst Sparkling Clear sequins and Glass Slippers by The Ton.
To be honest I regretted my plan while I was cutting and glueing the petals, but I really like the result :)!!! Hope you’ll give this technique a try! Please visit The Flower Challenge blog for more inspirations and challenge details!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
