Hello everyone!
Today I have a couple of cards to share with you. I had a blast playing with a new cling stamp set from Timeless collection by Penny Black, called Painter’s Vase (40-672). Also I used the sentiments from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) for these thank you cards.
Painter’s Vase (40-672) includes a beautiful bouquet and a round vase stamp in brushstroke style.
On my first card I simply gold heat embossed the bouquet on a alcohol inked background.
Before I started making the card itself, I tried some arrangements on some printer paper to pick one I liked. I used the sample as my guide while I colored the background.
To create the background I applied lots of blending solution on a Ranger Alcohol ink cardstock panel and dropped Raspberry, Flamingo, Shell Pink, Valencia and Sunshine Yellow on it and blended the colors by blowing. I left the upper part uncolored, only splattered some pink ink.
After the alcohol ink colored panel was completely dry I started heat embossing the bouquet image from Painter’s Vase (40-672) and a delicate branch image from Floral Silhouette (30-563) in gold as shown in the picture.
I heat embossed the thank you sentiment from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) directly on the panel in black. The small sentiment was white heat embossed on a black strip and foam mounted onto the panel.
I finished off the card by scattering some gold and iridescent sequins.
For the second card I watercolored the image of Painter’s Vase (40-672).
To start off I stamped the vase first in Tumbled Glass DI on a Canson watercolor paper panel. After masking the vase I stamped the bouquet image partially in Scattered Straw and the rest in Tattered Rose DI.
To watercolor the image I used Zig brush markers. As it is a brushstroke image the shading is already stamped and you can follow it while coloring. I didn’t do any fancy coloring, just applied the colors and blended it out using a clear glitter pen. I stamped a branch image from Floral Silhouette (30-563) on the vase in Tumbled Glass DI to add some more interest.
After coloring was completed I stamped the sentiment from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) in Onyx black ink on the colored panel. I then cut a rectangle frame from a silver cardstock and a border from some vellum which covers the outside of the frame.
I adhered the colored panel flat on a white cardbase, glued the vellum border on it and foam mounted the silver frame. To finish off I added black stamen using black glaze pen on the center of the flowers and some clear and iridescent sequins onto the card.
Thank you so much for looking my cards :)! Hope you like them!
I’m entering my first card into SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!
Hugs,
