Hello and Welcome to The Ton’s April 2020 Release!
The Ton is releasing 13 new stamp designs including some grouped layering floral stamps and sentiments today! The grouped layering floral stamps Morning Glory Cheer and Floral Bits 2 sets have the coordinating dies as well, with which you can cut the set of images with one single pass. Easy Expression is our new grouped layering sentiment! Effie also designed beautiful outline florals; Bountiful Magnolias, Bright Peony, Coming Up Lilies and Lily Fields, which are great to color using your favorite coloring mediums! The unique confetti designs; Confetti Alphas, Mega Confetti Numbers and Confetti Balloons work perfectly with each other. As always this release includes some fun sentiment sets and a new alphabet design; Cancelled, OMG Sentiments and Willow Alphas.
I’ve made three cards using some of the new items for today. Let’s take a look!
The first card is featuring Confetti Alphas and Floral Bits 2 stamp sets.
I started off by gold heat embossing the letters and cut them using my cutting machine. I set them aside and stamped the Floral Bits 2. As you may already know this ingenious grouped layering technique makes layered floral stamping so easy and with the coordinating die it saves lots of time! I stamped the pink florals in Couture color Peony Collection and the purple ones in Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms and Grape Crush. The leaves were stamped in Soft Garden and Bright Fern.
After stamping I cut the Floral Bits 2 images with the coordinating die. I then embellished each alphabet of the “happy” with the flowers and leaves.
To create the background I white heat embossed the confetti corner from Confetti Alphas stamp set on the four corners of my soft pink cardbase and ink blended the front softly in Ballet Slippers and Hollywood Star making it fade out towards the center of the panel.
I foam mounted the floral alphabets on the cardbase as shown in the picture and placed a big flower from Floral Bits 2 on the empty spot. The sentiment “BIRTHDAY” is a part of a word from the Bright Peony stamp set. I stamped it in Grape Crush on a piece of white cardstock, ink blended an end in Ballet Slippers and added it to the big flower.
Next two cards are showing our gorgeous lily outline stamps.
For this card I used the Coming Up Lilies stamp set and the coordinating cut file, which is also available in The Ton shop.
First I cut the front panel which I created on the Cricut workspace by cutting out the Coming Up Lilies coordinating cut file image from an A2 sized rectangle. I cut it from a heavyweight white cardstock and heat embossed the Diagonal Stripes background on it in white pearl EP to achieve a subtle look.
I then aligned the Coming Up Lilies stamp to fit in the cut out space of the front panel and stamped it on a watercolor paper in a light ink to do no-line coloring. I colored the image using Karin brush markers. I added Payne’s gray to the background and let the panel dry.
I mounted the colored panel flat on a white cardbase and foam mounted the front panel on it. The sentiment is also from the Coming Up Lilies stamp set, which I white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock. I finished off the card with some Glass Slippers Round Confetti sequins.
My last card for today is showcasing Lily Fields. It is a 6×6 clear stamp filled with pretty lilies!
My actual plan with this stamp was kinda highlight coloring; a yellow lily on a field of white lilies. But after I finished the “background”, which is now the main image, I decided not to add a yellow lily on it. I love how this turned out.
I stamped the Lily Fields on a watercolor paper panel in Crystal Pewter ink and colored it using Karin brush markers. I used warm grays to color the lilies and added various shades of green to the background. After the panel was dry, I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle die and mounted it on a white cardbase.
I gold heat embossed the word SENDING on some vellum using Willow Alphas set, made it into a banner and added it to the card. I adhered a strip of Adhesive Foil paper Gold on the edge of the banner and added glue underneath. I then cut the word hugs once from Adhesive Foil paper Gold and three more times from some white cardstock, stacked them all together and adhered it onto the card.
My finishing touch for this card was some Medallion Gold sequins.
