Hello everyone!
How are you doing? We still stay at home. The homeschooling is keeping me busy and distracts me from these weird times. Hope you’re staying safe and healthy!
It’s time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge! “Monochrome” is our theme for the month of May. It is an interesting theme. If you haven’t done it yet, I hope you’ll give this a try! Make some projects featuring monochromatic flowers as the main image. I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun!

I chose burgundy-antique rose color for my monochromatic card. For me the antique rose looks like a bright and toned down version of burgundy. I mixed a bit of purple to give my card some variation of the tone. The beautiful floral cluster image is a digital stamp by Alex Syberia, called Abstract Flowers. I placed two Abstract Flowers in different sizes on the diagonal corners in Keynote (an App for presentation) and printed it on a Neenah solar white paper.

I colored the flowers using Copic markers. I used RV10, R83, R85, R56, R59 and E49 and added RV 63, RV66 and RV69 to the purple flower. The leaves were colored in warm gray colors with a touch of RV10, R81, R83 and R56. I added the shadow using warm gray Copics.

After the coloring was done. I ink blended Tattered Rose DI on the border of the panel and cut it using a Double Stitched Rectangle die. I splattered clear water and dabbed it off with a paper towel and added white ink splatters as well.

The sentiment is from Lovely Lily stamp set by The Ton. I heat embossed it in Rose gold to match with the monochromatic look of my card. I mounted the finished panel on a white cardbase and the card was finished!

  1. You don’t see a lot of this technique… I think it is because most people
don’t pull it off well, but this card is just lovely!
Even though it is a ‘flat’ card, there is a lot of dimension to it!
