Hello everyone!

It’s Seize the Birthday Thursday again! This time around we’re having a Topping’s option which I chose. And it is “Add Gold” to your projects! I think I chose an easy one 🙂 !

I added gold to my flower and to the background and also embellished my card with some gold sequins. I used some new dies by The Ton.

I started off by making the dahlia flower using the Lovely Dahlia Layering Dies. I watercolored a watercolor paper in various shades of pink and added golden touch to it. After the paper was dry I cut the three layers for my dahlia from it. For the leaves I watercolored some scrap of watercolor paper in green. The flower center was cut from some yellow cardstock. I assembled the dahlia and set it aside.

To create the background I watercolored a panel in green and gold and cut it using the Lone Dahlia Coverplate die. I then ink blended a white cardbase in light green slightly and foam mounted the Lone Dahlia Coverplate panel on it. I adhered some of the negative die cut pieces from the left part of the panel on the cardbase.

I added the dahlia using some foam tape to the card. The sentiment was stamped using Easy Expressions: Birthday stamp set and cut using the coordinating die. I finished off the card with a few Medallion Gold sequins.

  1. A beautiful layered dahlia die TaeEun and love the pretty leafy coverplate in the background and love the pinks and greens together and the sparkly sequins which finish it perfectly. x

  2. Whether you used a hint of gold or not is really irrelevant when your card looks this amazing. I am glad you did this, as is it shows the participants that a small amount is also just as acceptable. Gorgeous once again!

  3. That dahlia die is stunning and your colouring on it is gorgeous, TaeEun! I love all the touches of gold with the paint and the sequins and your sequin placement is perfect! Thanks for your sweet comments on my cards and for having me as a guest!
