I have three slimline cards to share with you today!

The first one is a holiday card showing the Slimline Candy Cane Stripes coverplate die.

I started off by gold heat embossing the Poinsettia Wreath image two times on some watercolor paper and coloring it in Indigo and Orchid of Color Burst. I added a bit of bright opera to the tiny berries and Payne’s gray to the small leaves. I let the poinsettia wreath dry and cut it using the coordinating die. Btw The Ton has released coordinating dies which go with some stamp sets from previous releases. If you were waiting for them, please check it out in The Ton shop!

To create the Candy Cane background I first did some watercolor wash in indigo and bright opera on a 4′ x 9′ watercolor paper panel. After the panel was dry I cut it using the Slimline Candy Cane Stripes coverplate die and mounted it flat on a white slimline cardbase.

I foam mounted the parts of the wreath onto the card as shown in the picture and cut off the excess. The sentiment is from Easy Expressions: Holiday stamp set. I gold heat embossed the scripty part and stamped the rest in Noir ink and cut it using the coordinating die.

I finished off the card with some clear and Seaglass blue Dew Drops.

The second card is featuring Slimline Fractured Coverplate die and our grouped layering rose stamps from Fall Release.

I had the roses from Summer Rose and Rose Labels stamp set along with the leaves from Leaves set in my stash, as I stamped and die cut bunch of roses from our Fall Release already for my previous cards. I arranged a pink Summer Rose (stamped in Rose Quartz, Soft Garnet, Red Sangria hybrid ink) and a purple rose from Rose Labels (stamped in Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms, Grape Crush). The small buds from Rose Labels set were stamped in Lemon Drop and Amber Citrine (yellow) and Amber Citrine and Coralline hybrid ink (orange). The leaves were stamped in Soft Garden and Bright Fern. I placed a piece of Press’n Seal on the floral arrangement to keep it secure and set it aside.

To created the background I ink blended the white slimline cardbase in Soft Garnet and Soft Amethyst and splattered white opaque ink on it. I cut a white panel using the Slimline Fractured Coverplate die and adhered it on the cardbase. I then added the floral arrangement to it using some foam tape.

For the sentiment I used the Script Word dies. I cut the word once from Adhesive glitter paper Glossy Fine Silver and three more times from some heavy weight white cardstock to add dimension. I cut the shadow layer from some vellum.

The butterflies are stamped using the new grouped layering stamp set, Kaleidoscope Butterflies. I stamped the filler layer in Lemon Drop while adding a bit of shade of Peach Blossom and the outline layer in Ballet Slippers with a bit of Soft Garnet. To add some shine I heat embossed the outline layer in Iridescent Sparkle EP. I then cut the butterflies using the coordinating die. Three butterflies were added to the card using some foam tape. I added Nuvo Strawberry Coulis dew drops to the body of the butterflies and finished off the card with some Clear Enamel Dots.

My last card is showcasing one of the Slimline Border dies. I didn’t use it in the whole length, but rather to cut my panel to give it a pretty edge.

I started off by making the watercolored background panel in coral, pink and Payne’s gray. I cut the bottom end using the scalloped Slimline Border die. I also made two more border pieces using the same die. I layered them together and foam mounted the background panel on a white slimline cardbase.

I white heat embossed three Confetti Balloons and ink blended them in Peach Blossom, Soft Garnet and Crystal Pewter respectively. I also stamped the tiny bow in the same colors and cut them all using the coordinating dies. I adhered the balloons on the card using some foam tape as shown in the picture and added the silver string on the back of the balloons.

The sentiment from Large Florals: Rose stamp set was heat embossed in silver on the cardbase. I finished off the card with a few Glass Slippers sequins.

  1. Three fantastic slimline cards, and they are all beautiful TaeEun but I particularly love the first with the poinsettias with the diagonal striped cover plate background in coordinating colours which are so pretty. The two toned inked roses and the balloons on the stitched scalloped layers both work brilliantly too, and love all the fresh bright colours. x
