Hello everyone! Hope you’re well and having a restful weekend!

I have four cards to share with you today. They are featuring some new winter themed stamp sets from Winter Wishes Release by Penny Black.

The first card is showcasing the Cozy Winter (30-763) stamp set with cute critters! It’s nearly a one layer card!

I started off by stamping the scene in Memento black ink on Neenah solar white cardstock. I made masks for the scene to ink blend the sky in purple and pink DIs. I then colored the image using Copic markers. I left the stamp in the MISTI to stamp the image again for crispy outlines after the coloring was done.

I splattered the sky with white opaque ink and purple watercolor after masking the image. I then removed the mask and added some white splatters on the image as well. Some white highlights were added to the image. The sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed on a strip in purple and foam mounted on the card.

It’s been a while since I color a scene in one layer last time and it was so much fun to do it again!

My next card is featuring the winter clothes in nordic style from Get Comfy (30-775) stamp set.

I stamped the sweaters, hats and mittens in a brown archival ink on Bristol Smooth paper several times and colored them all using Karin brush markers in pale pink, arctic blue and gray. After coloring I cut them all using the coordinating Cut Out (51-695).

To create the background I watercolored an A2 sized watercolor paper panel in the same colors I colored the clothes keeping the center of the panel uncolored. I ink blended the four corners in light blue and pink DIs to darken the area. I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Moments (30-731) set in black on the center of the panel and mounted it flat on a white cardbase.

I arranged the colored images on the card, secured it with a sheet of Press’N Seal and foam mounted them on the card. I cut the excessive parts of the images and added some clear rhinestones to finish off the card.

Next I have a couple of slimline cards which have alcohol inked backgrounds and white heat embossed images. The stamp sets used here are All Things Evergreen (40-764) and Snow Charm (30-772).

Let’s start with the green one 🙂 !

I started by making the background. I sprayed rubbing alcohol on a heavyweight YUPO panel in slimline size and dropped Stream, Meadow, Limeade and Citrus alcohol inks on it. I moved and blended the ink droplets using a blower and by adding rubbing alcohol.

After the panel was dry I stamped the trees from All Things Evergreen (40-764) set in an embossing ink and heat embossed them in white and gold as shown in the picture. The sentiment from Christmas Moments (30-731) set was also heat embossed in gold on the panel. I did the heat embossing very carefully but couldn’t avoid the warping completely though.

I cut the hills, added them onto the panel and foam mounted the panel on a white slimline cardbase. After covering the sentiment and bottom part of the card I splattered Snow Cap alcohol ink and let it dry.

The blue background was made in Amethyst, Indigo, Pool and Juniper alcohol inks and silver Mixative. After the panel was dry I heat embossed the snowflakes from Snow Charm (30-772) set on it in white.

The panel was foam mounted on a white slimline cardbase. The sentiment from Snowflake Season (30-779) set was white heat embossed on a strip of navy cardstock.

I finished off the card with some clear rhinestones.

  1. The first two cards are perfect for the young ones. The second two are beautiful, sophisticated cards anyone would live to receive. Thank you for sharing your talents.

  2. Those are all so pretty. I love the alcohol ink blended backgrounds, they give such a dreamy look to the cards! Thank you for sharing.

  3. Four beautiful cards TaeEun and love the sweet little critters on the first, and then the very colourful patterned jumpers, hats and mittens, so pretty, and then the two beautiful bright AI pieces with the embossed trees and snowflakes. I have no success with heat embossing on to the ordinary yupo paper as mine warped terribly, but I have recently bought some thicker yupo but haven’t used it yet so will see if that is better. x
