Hello again, my crafty friends! It’s a busy day on my blog 🙂

It’s Seize the Birthday Thursday again ! Our Nancy is hosting this challenge and she wants us to add hearts to our projects! As always there is also an Anything goes challenge, so if you don’t want to take the topping, just enter any birthday themed project !

I combined a floral background stamp by The Ton, called Riotous Wildflowers with Stitched Heart Jigsaw die, also from The Ton.

First I watercolored an A2 sized Canson Mixed Media paper panel lightly in pink leaving a corner not colored. After it was dry I stamped the Riotous Wildflowers on it in Versafine onyx black ink. I then cut the Stitched Heart Jigsaw from the panel and cut the negative panel using the Scalloped Nested A2 die and foam mounted it on a black cardbase.

I colored the die cut Jigsaw heart using Karin brush markers. The Stitched Heart Jigsaw die cut off a purzle piece so I foam mounted the heart on the card without the purzle piece, which I added above the Jigsaw heart with a fussy cut golden heart.

The sentiment is from Easy Expressions Birthday set. I mixed gold heat embossing and black stamping for it and cut it using the coordinating coverplate die. To finish off the card I scattered some Medallion Gold sequins.

  1. Your colouring is, no surprise, gorgeous! (I know I don’t need to add Karin markers to my collection – it’s definitely more about who uses them. 😉 ) Great idea to spotlight a heart section of the stamp, and then the jigsaw cutout? Genius.

  2. WOW! A gorgeous work of art with the highlight colouring of the heart. Stunning; absolutely stunning. Thank you for the warm welcome; thrilled to be guest designing with you and the team for the next two months.

  4. This is sooo beautiful. I am in awe. What a great way to do the spotlighting technique and the puzzle piece is just brilliant as well. Your colouring is always perfection as well. Fabulous.

  5. Literally a piece of the heart!! Love the beautiful coloring on the heart/flowers. That’s spotlight technique, isn’t it? Totally adore it! And that little bit of gold really adds that feather on the cap!
