Hello and happy Thursday everyone!

Hope you’re all well and having a great week so far! Today is the Seize the Birthday Thursday! The Topping is chosen by my lovely team mate Glenda and she wants for us to use a sketch for our birthday projects! As always there is Anything Goes challenge, if you don’t want to take the topping!

I made a simple card using the sketch. I used Graceful Lily (30-689) stamp set and Sewing Stackers (51-651) die set from Daydream release by Penny Black.

I started off by gold heat embossing the Graceful Lily (30-689) image on a watercolor paper. I colored it using Karin brush markers and fussy cut the image.

To make the subtle ink blended background I pulled out Mustard Seed and Victorian Velvet DI and ink blended one side of a white panel. I die cut the panel with a die from Sewing Stackers (51-651) die set and foam mounted it on a beige cardbase.

To represent the cute stitches in the sketch I cut three buttons using Sewing Stackers (51-651) die from some pink marbled patterned paper. I added the stitch to the holes of the button using a natural twine and adhered the buttons on the front panel as shown in the picture.

I then foam mounted the lilies on the card and added the white heat embossed sentiment. The butterfly is from a die cut Butterfly String (51-648). I watercolored it in light yellow and added golden pearls on the body.

That’s it from me! It’s your turn to play with the sketch! Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my team mates and our Surprise party guest , Carol Mayne from Just Me: C !

Thank you so much for looking!

  2. This is such a charming card! The lilies look amazing, and I love the little yellow butterfly! So very elegant! And of course, your watercoloring is just as wonderful as always, TaeEun!

  3. This is so pretty, TaeEun! The flowers are beautifully coloured (as always!), and I love the pattern of the diecut panel. Great idea to sponge behind the flowers.

  4. Your lilies are so beautiful! The subtle shading is perfect and I love your butterfly and button accents. Thanks for your gorgeous take on the sketch.
