Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

It’s time for a reminder card for the latest Flower Challenge with the theme “Use Your Favorite Flower”.

My favorite flower for today’s card is Poppy. I love poppies. I used to have yellow and orange poppies in a big pot for my balcony. But sadly It seems they failed this year, no sprout is coming out.

I chose red for my flowers today. I watercolored them in Permanent Carmine making the outer edge of the petals darker and the inner part softer. I tried to show the folds of the petals by adding transparent layers.

I stamped the outline image of the Grouped Fresh Poppies set in Antique Linen DI and watercolored the images. I stamped the images again to get more leaves and buds. After the panel was dry I cut them all using the coordinating die. I set the images aside and made the frame and the background.

The Baroque Frame Oval was heat embossed in gold and cut using the coordinating die. I colored the frame with E30s Copic markers. For more interest I ink blended the bottom part of the cardbase in pink-red using Bubblegum, Dolled Up and Cherry.

I arranged the poppy flowers and leaves inside of the frame and foam mounted them all on the cardbase. The sentiment is from the Easy Expressions Thanks set.

  1. Mine pale in comparison, TaeEun – SOOO gorgeous!
I love poppies, too – I’d love a yard full of these beautiful red ones! I even love the leftover seed-heads from them!

  2. Poppies are one of my favourites too TaeEun and your more gentle transparent colour looks so pretty and love the ornate oval frame and the ombre colouring of the base card looks great too. x

  3. Amazing poppies Tae-Eun. They are so beautifully grouped together inside that intricate frame. LOVE the ombre ink blending on your card base. xx
