Hello everyone!

Today I have a stripy birthday card to share with you! It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! My lovely team mate Vicki chose the new toppings option and she wants to see stripes in our birthday projects!

I created a beach scene using some watercolored stripes and parked up a camper on the beach.

I watercolored four watercolor paper stripes in different shades of blue and one stripe in brown and gold using Gansai Tambi watercolor. I also cut the elements for the camper from some watercolor paper using Campers die set (51-645) by Penny Black. I watercolored the camper in yellow, orange and red and assembled it together. I adhered a piece of vellum on the back of the camper as windows.

I cut the top edge of the watercolored stripes in wavy lines and layered them using foam tape on a white cardbase to build the beach scene.

I then added the camper to the card. The sentiments are from some stamp sets of Stamping with Scooter collection by Penny Black: Blown Away (30-836), Doggone Great (30-834) and Pawsome Birthday (30-837).
I white heat embossed them on black cardstock and added the sentiment strips to the card as shown. I finished off the card with some clear iridescent sequins.

That’s it from me! Please hop over to Seize the Birthday blog ! Our new Surprise Party Guest for August and September, Jenny Martin from My Paper Epiphany and my team mates have awesome inspiration for you!

Looking forward to seeing your birthday projects in the gallery! If you don’t want to take the topping you may enter any birthday project as always!

Thank you for looking!

  1. These stripes are gorgeous!!! Perfect background for the fabulous camper. Love everything about this card.

  2. When I initially had the idea to make something wavy, I was a little skeptical whether it would count as stripes, but I am glad to see your card here using that – and its definitely better than whatever I would have made too!! 😀 Beautiful card, TaeEun!!
