Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

It’s time for a reminder card for the latest Flower Challenge with the theme “USE a DIE” !

tfchallenge59

For the first card at the beginning of the challenge I used basic dies to make the colored panel more interesting. I did it again for this reminder DT card 🙂 .

Rachel from RachelVassDesigns is our sponsor this month ! Rachel is giving our lucky winner a PRIZE of three of her amazing digital stamp sets!

I used Blossom Branch digital stamp which Rachel has designed!

I printed the Blossom Branch on Canson watercolor paper and watercolored it. I colored the flowers in pink using Quinacridone Magenta (QoR) and the leaves and stems in Cobalt Turquoise Light and Neutral Tint (Winsor & Newton).

I cut a rhombus from the center of the colored panel using a Double Pierced Square Nested die (The Ton) and dry embossed one more rhombus using a larger die. I then ink blended the bottom of the negative piece of the panel in Bright Emerald and Caribbean Turquoise and splattered white opaque ink.

I foam mounted the negative piece on a teal cardbase and added the center piece to it using two layers of foam tape.

The sentiment was cut using the Many Sentiments die (The Ton). I cut it four times and colored one of them in teal using Copic marker BG49. I layered them all up and added it to the card. To finish off I scattered some Smoked Emerald and Glass Slippers sequins by The Ton.

That’s it from me! Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from our amazing guest Therese Calvird  from lostinpaper.com and my lovely team mates!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. Beautiful watercoloring, TaeEun, and the ink blending on the bottom adds so much to the design. I love the way you die cut the panel. Such a great design idea.

  2. The pinks and turquoise colours are very pretty and love the stitched panel cut from the flower painted piece, and it looks great raised up a bit with the two layers of foam tape, and finished beautifully with the die cut sentiment and the two colours of sequins. A gorgeous card! x

  3. LOVE your design Tae Eun! Gorgeous watercolour flowers … love the colours you’ve used. So interesting with the die-cut diamond in the center. Adds something special to your card. The caribbean turquoise at the bottom really pulls it all together. Amazing card!! xx

  4. So beautiful with the nested square as a diamond though the image. Just love your coloring and the shading at the bottom – gorgeous card! Thanks for the inspiration at the Flower Challenge!!
