Hello everyone! Hope your September is off to a great start 🙂 !

It’s Seize the Birthday Thursday again! This time JoAnn chose our Toppings Option and she loves to see pastel colors on our projects!

I chose small floral clusters of the Joyful Bouquet set by Pinkfresh Studio to decorate the large hot foiled sentiment! I used Joyful Bouquet Layering Stencil set to color the flowers in pretty pastel colors 🙂 !

I gold heat embossed the floral images of the Joyful Bouquet stamp set. To stencil the flowers I used Ballet Slipper, Sparking Rose, Soft Lilac (pinkish flowers), Sunshine, Apricot (yellow flowers), Ocean Breeze and Aquamarine (leaves).

I cut them all using the coordinating one piece die and set them aside.

Before I hot foiled the Hugs and Good Vibes sentiment in gold, I ink blended a white panel in Sunshine, Apricot and Sparkling Rose for a dreamy pastel look. The sentiment was cut using the coordinating die.

I adhered a pink stripy patterned paper from the Keeping It Real 6×6 paper pack on a white cardbase and foam mounted the sentiment and the flowers as shown in the picture.

The happy birthday sentiment is from Simply Sentiments Hello set. I stamped it in Apricot and Sparkling Rose on a piece of ink blended scrap paper. I cut it in a banner and adhered it on the card with eight small Ballet Slipper Jewels.

Now it’s your turn! Make some pastel birthday cards and enter them into our challenge! But before you go creating please hop over to Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my team mates and our guest Jenny Martin from My Paper Epiphany !

As always if you don’t want to take the topping, any birthday project is welcome!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. I too am oohing and ahing over your beautiful card. The flowers are so pretty as is the foiled sentiment. I like how you blended the paper before foiling the sentiment. Your coloring is always amazing.

  2. You took the topping and ran with it on this card, Tae Eun! Love the obvious coloring of your florals, but then the light sponging on the foiled background is perfect too! Awesome job! Take care!

  3. You were able to put so much on this card and it is gorgeous! Love the pastel flowers and that you used so many. But I really like the blush of color behind the sentiment. Such a nice effect.

  4. Such a pretty card TaeEun, love the gold foiling and how you’ve tucked the flowers around the gorgeous sentiment, Cathy x

  5. I saw this on IG and was in awe there, now seeing it full blow and in color I am just plain awe struck! this is so beautiful TaeEun. You nailed this pastel color challenge!

  6. Such gorgeous flowers – they go so well with the gold embossing. The blended colours on the sentiment tie everything together perfectly. The stripes are a great simple background for the ornate flowers & sentiment.
