Hello and happy Thursday everyone 🙂 !
A new challenge at Seize the Birthday is starting today! The new Toppings option chosen by Shirley is Cakes! As always you may enter any birthday themed project into our gallery if you don’t want to take the topping!
I picked a cute hedgehog with a cake from Birthday BFF set (30-587) by Penny Black.
I stamped the hedgehog in Versafine black ink on some watercolor paper and watercolored it using Karin brush markers. I stamped the image on the bottom half of the panel to get the space for the heart garlands which were cut using the Heart Border die (51-592).
I ink blended the upper half of the panel in pink, yellow and blue very lightly and matted the colored panel with a pink cardstock so that the die cut hearts of the garlands look pink. I splattered white ink on the pink panel before I foam mounted the colored panel on it. I then mounted them on a gray cardbase using foam tape.
The sentiment from the same stamp set was heat embossed on vellum in silver. I finished off the card with some clear sequins and two pink rhinestones on the sentiment banner.
Now it’s your turn! I think the Topping is the easiest one for a birthday card 🙂 ! please hop over to the Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my team mates and our guest Jenny Martin from My Paper Epiphany !
Thank you so much for looking!
Have a great one!
