Hello everyone!

It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! My lovely teammate Colleen chose the new Toppings option for the next fortnight and she wants to see a Sunset Scene in our projects!

As I’m not good at making scenic cards, I decided to use only the colors of the Sunset. Hope it could be counted. 🙂 . But if not, it’s also okay, as we have an Anything Goes Challenge as always!

I used an autumnal stamp set called Forever Grateful (30-860) by Penny Black.

To start I gold heat embossed the butternut pumpkin and the leaves from the Forever Grateful (30-860) set and colored them with Zig brush markers. After coloring I cut them using the coordinating Cut Out (51-716) and set them aside.

To add some texture to the background I dry embossed a white panel with all dies from Zig-zag Stackers die set (51-714) and cut it with the largest die. I also cut an alcohol inked panel of Alcohol ink cardstock which I colored in red and orange with two small dies from the same set.

I foam mounted the white panel on a cream cardbase , adhered the center rectangle of the alcohol inked panel and added the frame to it using foam tape.

I then arranged the butternut pumpkin and the leave images on the card as shown. The sentiment is from …wishes set (30-103). I finished off the card with three Medallion Gold sequins by The Ton.

That’s it from me! Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog and get all the inspiration from our Surprise Party Guest, Carol McFarland and my amazing team mates !

Hope you’ll play along!

Have a crafty day!

  1. You have used the sunset colours well here TaeEun with your beautiful washy orange background and the very tasty looking pear with some pretty flowers, leaves and berries….I love the zig zag edged frame too. x

  2. TaeEun, your background sky is gorgeous! I love all the reds and oranges, and I am sure that can be seen in many places in the world. And your foreground pumpkin and leaves are so striking with the colors you used and in front of your amazing sunset!

  3. Shows how many ways you can take a theme, and make so many varieties of cards with it. I love your version of using the sunset colors, TaeEun. That pear looks like a true work of art!! What an amazing card!
