Hello, crafty friends ❤️

Today I’m popping in to share a special release by Pinkfresh Studio with you. Pinkfresh Studio is releasing Sunflower Washi, Stamp, Die and Layering Stencil sets today. These Sunflower products were originally designed for the March release but Pinkfresh Studio has decided to release them earlier than planned for a good cause. All profits from these sets from the month of March will go to Save the children organization. So if you’ve been looking for a way to help the people affected by the war in Ukraine, there is one more now.

Here is the words from Pinkfresh Studio.

“We are gravely concerned for children in Ukraine, who might be caught in the middle of armed conflict, forced to flee their homes and exposed to injury, hunger and sub-zero temperatures. 100% net profits from this product (from the month of March) will be donated to Save the children organization. we hope that you help us support this cause.”

I made a couple of sunflower cards. The first one is showcasing the Sunflower Washi and the other one is featuring the stamp set.

To start I adhered the 4 inch wide washi tape on a white cardstock and cut the images using the coordinating die. I did it again this time adhering the washi tape on a backing paper of an adhesive paper, so that I can detach the washi image from the backing paper and make my own pattern.

Next I ink blended a white A2 sized panel in yellow and purple using Lemon Whip, Apricot, Soft Lilac and Lavender. I then adhered the images from the washi tape on it filling the whole panel.

To mute the intense color of the background pattern I tore a piece of vellum and added it to the card. I left a thin area on the left side uncovered for some interest.

Next I cut a white circle frame using Stitched Scallop Circle die, foam mounted it on the card slightly shifted towards right and cut off the excessive part.

I picked two large washi images which were adhered on white cardstock and arranged them on the circle frame.

The sentiment from Perfect Sentiments set was hot foiled in gold and cut with the coordinating die. To finish off I added five Metallic Gold Pearls to the circle frame.

For the next card I made a alcohol inked background in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

The images from the Sunflower stamp were stamped in Detail Black on some watercolor paper and watercolored. To match with the background I colored some branches in light blue. After watercoloring was done I cut the images using the coordinating die.

To color the Yupo panel I used Sail Boat Blue and Dandelion alcohol ink and some rubbing alcohol. The Yupo panel was adhered on a white cardbase and a white Stitched Scallop Rectangle frame was added to it with some foam tape. I then arranged the watercolored sunflowers on the frame.

The sentiment is from the Sunflower stamp set as well. I heat embossed it in gold, cut it into a fishtail banner. For some shine I adhered some gold mirror cardstock on the back of the banner. I finished off this card with three Matte Gold Metallic Pearls.

  1. As much as I worry about all of the Ukrainian citizens, it’s the images and video of their darling children being sent away for safety that just breaks my heart.
Your cards are so lovely, TaeEun. You had me at water-colored!
    Well done, Pinkfresh!

  2. Wow, beautiful cards! I really love your last card with the blue and yellow in the background!

  3. These sunflowers are gorgeous both stamped and on that wonderful washi tape TaeEun, and love the added vellum and the circular scalloped frame with the washi, and then the rectangular scalloped frame and background alcohol inking with the stamped and beautifully coloured flowers and two great sentiments too. x
