Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Today I have three cards to share with you. I made them using some of the new items from the Hello Sunshine 2023 Collection by Penny Black. In this collection, the genius Edger die series was expanded by three more die sets : Hello, Thanks and Happy. These Edger die sets are accompanied by sentiment Builder sets. For today’s cards I used the new sentiment die and stamp sets along with some new clear stamp sets with cute critters, flowers and balloons!

The first card is showing the Hello Edger (51-772), Hello Builder (30-976) and the cute bear from the Bring Joy (30-978) set.

hello-1-2

I stamped the bear and the butterflies from the Bring Joy (30-978) set on a watercolor paper panel in Antique Linen distress ink and watercolored the image. To keep the card clean I left the background uncolored and adhered the panel on a white cardbase.

hello-4-2

The “hello” was cut three times from some heavyweight white cardstock and stacked together. I cut a yellow A2 sized cardstock with the edger die and ink blended the bottom edge in orange. I foam mounted this yellow panel on the card and added the white “hello” on it. I also stamped the long sentiment from the Hello Builder (30-976) set directly on the yellow panel.

To finish off I scattered a few clear iridescent sequins.

Next card is a slimline card featuring a bunch of balloons from the Birthday Blooms (30-966) set, the Happy Edger(51-773) and the Happy Builder (30-973) set. I also used the Slimline Zig-Zag (51-733) die set from a previous collection.

happy-1-2

To begin I stamped the Bunch of balloons in a Copic friendly black ink on a Neenah solar white panel and colored the image using Copic markers. The light brown balloons were colored in E00, E11, E13 and E04 ; the coral ones in R00, R02 and R22 ; the teal ones in G00, BG000, G02 ; the yellow ones in YR000, Y06 and Y19. The tiny flowers were colored in Y17, YR04 and G02. Lastly I colored the bow in Y17 and fussy cut the image.

happy-5-2

The front panel with three square windows were cut using the dies from the Slimline Zig-Zag (51-733) die set from some white cardstock. To add colors to the windows I cut three white squares which are slightly larger than the windows and colored them in coral, yellow and light brown in an ombre fashion using the same Copic markers I used to color the balloons.

I adhered the colored squares on a white slimline cardbase where the windows of the front panel would be and foam mounted the front panel on it.

Next I added the balloons on the card using foam tape. The die cut “happy” was colored in teal using the same Copic markers I used to color the teal balloons. I stacked three more die cut “happy” for some dimension. I connected the balloons and the die cut “happy” with a yellow twine. The sub-sentiment is from the Happy Builder (30-973) set. I white heat embossed it on a strip of yellow cardstock and added it to the card.

For some bling I added three rhinestones in matching colors to each window.

The last card for today is showcasing the Thanks Edger (51-774) die and the Birthday Blooms (30-966) set from this collection.

thanks-1-2

To start I heat embossed the bouquet in a vase in gold on some Bristol smooth paper and colored it using Brush markers. After I was done with the coloring, I cut the panel using a die from the Stitched Frames (51-709) set so that I have a rectangle panel with the colored image. I adhered the small rectangle panel on a white cardbase and prepared the negative piece of the front panel.

thanks-4-x

To make the front panel, I first ink blended the negative panel in Vintage Photo and Mustard Seed DI and stamped the Letter Background (40-780) on the panel in the same ink colors. I made the area darker where the die cut sentiment would be placed. I then foam mounted the front panel on the card.

thanks-cu1-2

I die cut “thanks” four times from some dark brown cardstock using the Thanks Edger (51-774) die, stacked them all together and heat embossed the lower half of it in gold.

After I added the sentiment to the card I attached two gold flat back pearls on the vase and the card was done.

thanks-3-2

I love the Edger dies with the shadow die, which cuts only the upper edge of the sentiment! This time I only used the shadow die for the first card, but the Happy Edger and the Thanks Edger sets have the extra edger die as well! Hope you’ll check out the Penny Black blog to see all the items from the Hello Sunshine 2023 Collection!

Thank you so much for stopping by !

  1. Three fabulous cards TaeEun, and all so different, and the Edger sentiments are great..love that cute bear and so bright with the yellow, and then the slimline using that wonderful ornate slimline zig zag die and a brilliant idea with the windows and pretty balloons, and lastly the bottle filled with the flowers beautifully coloured and love the ornate aperture and the scripted ‘letter’ background too. x
