Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far!

Today, I’m sharing a floral card featuring some of the gorgeous new items from the March Joyful Blooms Release by Pinkfresh Studio. I’ll also be hosting a giveaway with this card on my Instagram—if you’d like a chance to win a $50 Gift Card to Pinkfresh Studio, make sure to check out my Instagram post for all the details!

For this card, I decided to experiment with a color combination of dark red, coral pink, and brown tones. You all know already, I love testing new color schemes I come across on Pinterest 🙂 !

The main floral image I used is from the Blooming Grace suite. To achieve crisp outlines, I first stenciled the images and then stamped them in Detail Black. The stencils align easily thanks to the handy guide marks etched into the stencils.

Here are the ink colors I used:

After stenciling and stamping, I cut out the images with the coordinating die and set them aside.

For the background, I ink-blended a panel of mixed media paper using Peach Fuzz, Cherry Blossom, and Doe, keeping the bottom portion darker and fading toward the top. I then spritzed the panel lightly with water for a soft watercolor effect and let it dry.

Next, I added subtle texture by pressing the Leafy Lattice pattern onto the background. I inked the lower two-thirds of the press plate with Peach Fuzz and lightly dabbed the top edge with a paper towel to soften the line. Then, I pressed it a second time using Doe, inking only the lower third of the plate to create a nice gradient effect.

I die-cut the background panel with the largest die from the Double Stitched Rectangles set and adhered it to a white card base.

To create the floral half-wreath, I used the Elegant Circles as a frame. I ink-blended the circular frame in Doe and Berrylicious, cut two more from white cardstock, and layered them for dimension. I positioned the frame so the dark red section is more visible, with the brown tucked underneath the floral arrangement.

I arranged the flowers as shown, using foam tape for dimension, and added the sentiment from the same set, stamped in Detail Black and cut with the coordinating die

For a finishing touch, I added some Ruby Glitter Drops for a little sparkle.

I know many crafters love pastel colors and lots of white space, but I always enjoy trying new color combinations I find online. I can’t say this combo is my all-time favorite, but I kind of like how it turned out!

I hope you’ll join the giveaway on Instagram—good luck 🙂 !

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Such a pretty card TaeEun! I really love the espresso leaves and the colours you used for the Leafy Lattice in the background!

  2. A really beautiful effect with the graduated colour and leaf stamping on the background TaeEun, and a lovely contrast with the red portion of the frame and just the brown section beneath the wonderful stencilled flowers looking so crisp with the stamped black outline you added, and the stamped and die cut sentiment and the ruby glitter drops finish it brilliantly. x
