Dimensional Floral Background with Gold Foil Accents – Pinkfresh Studio

Hello and Happy Friday , crafty friends!

Today I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog sharing a floral card featuring the Steeped in Kindness Press Plate, Elegant Circles die set, and Stitched Basket Weave Coverplate Die. I created a dimensional floral background using the beautiful floral elements from the Steeped in Kindness suite. With spring approaching, I chose soft pastel colors to bring a fresh and delicate feel to the card.

I started by hot foiling the floral images and the bird in gold three times. The gold foiling adds an elegant shine that complements the soft colors beautifully.

Next, I used the coordinating stencils to add color to the images. The ink colors I used are listed below.

• Flowers: Apricot, Peony, Coral Reef
• Small Flowers: Peony, Lavender, Summer Shower
• Leaves: Summer Shower, Ocean Breeze, Grassy Knoll
• Stem: Sheer Freesia
• Flower Centers: Sweet Mustard
• Bird: Blue Jay, Candy Violet, Summer Shower
• Beak & Feet: Metropolis

After stenciling, I die-cut all the images using the coordinating die.

For the background, I ink-blended an A2-sized white panel in Apricot, Peony, Ocean Breeze, and Grassy Knoll, keeping the center lighter to create a glowing effect. I then cut this panel with the Stitched Basket Weave Coverplate Die and adhered it to a white card base for subtle texture.

I arranged the floral elements onto the card using foam tape for dimension. Once I was happy with the placement, I trimmed the excess pieces from the edges.

To create a focal point, I die-cut the Elegant Circle twice from white cardstock and once from Glacier Glitter Cardstock, stacked them together, and placed them at the center of the card.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled a greeting from the Steeped in Kindness Press Plate and a secondary sentiment from the Favorite Things Sentiments Press Plate in gold. After die-cutting them, I adhered them to the center using foam tape and added the bird on top.

As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with Gold Metallic Pearls to add a bit more golden shine.
