Soft & Dreamy Birthday Card with Nature’s Narrative – Pinkfresh Studio

I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today sharing a soft and dreamy birthday card featuring the Nature’s Narrative suite and the Petal Trellis coverplate die from the September Fables & Forests Release. I’m absolutely in love with the ethereal, storybook feel of these new products 🙂 !

Before I began stenciling the Nature’s Narrative image, I selected six colors for my rainbow. The coordinating stencil set includes six layers, each designed for one color of the rainbow. You can assign a single shade to each stencil or, like I did, combine a few colors on one layer to create a more customized look.

Here are the shades I used:

• Rainbow: Coral Reef, Peach Fuzz, Bay Leaf, Atlantis, Slumber, Sheer Freesia
• A bit of Apricot to the small flowers
• Book cover and hills: Waterfall and Atlantis

Once stenciling was complete, I cut the the panel with the coordinating one piece die and set the images aside.

For the background, I ink blended an A2 panel using the cloud stencil from the Guiding Light suite using Apricot, Coral Reef, Sky Blue, and Sheer Freesia for a soft, dreamy look. I then cut the panel with the Petal Trellis coverplate die and adhered it onto a white cardbase.

For a finished look I added a white frame to the background cut with the Double Stitched Elongated Oval dies.

Next, I arranged the Nature’s Narrative elements with foam tape, starting with the rainbow, then the landscape, then tucking in the smaller flowers and butterflies for extra detail.

The sentiment, from the Twilight Tales Press Plate, was pressed in Opulence on white cardstock, die cut and added to the card.

Finally, I embellished the design with three Amethyst Glitter Drops for a touch of sparkle.
