Hello and welcome to  Pinkfresh Studio “Homespun with Heart” Release Blog Hop !!!

If you arrived here from Carissa Wiley’s Blog, you’re on the right track. If not, be sure to head over to the Pinkfresh Studio Blog for all the details on this gorgeous new release and to start the full blog hop!

It’s release day at Pinkfresh Studio !  The February Homespun with Heart Release will make every sewing crafter’s heart happy. The items in the Stitch Edit collection are so much fun, with delicate and thoughtful details! Along with the Stitch Edit collection, there are of course pretty floral designs debuting today for all of our flower lovers 🙂 !

For today’s hop, I created two cards using the floral items from this release.

The first card features the Trailing Grace and Cottage Frames Product suites.

To begin, I stenciled the Trailing Grace image in a soft and warm color palette. I stenciled the flowers and leaves in two tones each.

Once I finished stenciling, I cut the florals using the coordinating die and set them aside.

To create the ombré background, I ink blended the perimeter of a white panel using Citron, Eucalyptus and Spruce Tips, keeping the outer border deeper in color. After that, I cut the background panel using the Dazzling Diamond coverplate die and adhered it to a white cardbase.

Next, I arranged the florals along the border of the panel as shown, using foam tape, and trimmed off the excess.

For the sentiment, I pressed the sentiment from the Cottage Frames Press Plate in Detail Black onto a piece of white cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating die. For the mat, I  pressed one frame pattern from the Cottage Frames Press Plate in Citron onto white cardstock and die cut it. I also cut a piece of cardstock, ink blended in Citron, using the larger frame die. I layered the frames and placed the sentiment on top.

To finish off the card, I scattered a few Leaf Clear Drops and added two Champagne Clear Drops to the centers of the large flowers.

The second card is showcasing another floral design from this Release: Bloomsmith Florals product suite. To keep the flowers” in a fence”, I used a die from the Stitch Edit: Heritage Lace die set.

To start, I stenciled the Bloomsmith Florals image in pastel colors. I colored the flowers in light blue and light purple using Summer Shower, Seaside, Soft Lilac and Lavender, and the leaves in Grassy Knoll, Eucalyptus, Citron and Bay Leaf. I used two different shades of ink for each color.

After the stenciling was done, I dit cut the Bloomsmith Florals using the coordinating die and set them aside.

To create the meadow background, I ink blended the bottom of a white A2 sized panel using Citron, Grassy Knoll and Eucalyptus, then dry embossed it using the Lattice Glow coverplate die. I splattered white opaque ink onto the whole panel, let it dry, and adhered it to a white cardbase.

To assemble the card, I die cut two laces using the Stitch Edit: Heritage Lace set and adhered one piece directly to the background. Next I arranged the florals as shown in the picture using foam tape. Lastly I added the white fence using foam tape.

The sentiment is  from the Stitch Edit: Heartmade Details set. I stamped it in Detail black, along with a tiny pattern on both ends.

The finishing touch for this card was a few Ice Clear Drops. I also added Amethyst Glitter Drops to the centers of two flowers.
