Also brand new EasyBlend Grip Mats in three versatile sizes are debuting today! These premium grip mats were thoughtfully designed to make your crafting experience smoother, easier, and more enjoyable, whether you are ink blending, stenciling, stamping, or working with detailed die cuts !

Today I’m sharing two cards created with some sweet items from this release!

The first card is a shaker card featuring the Lemon Blossom Crest suite. I paired the elegant foiled crest with a deep navy shaker to create a rich and dramatic look.

To start, I hot foiled the Lemon Blossom Crest image in gold on white cardstock and colored it using the coordinating stencil set in the following colors.

Once the stenciling was finished, I die cut the image using the coordinating die and set it aside.

To create the dark shaker background, I first ink blended a white A2 panel in Storm deepening the center with Stargazer. I then die cut the panel using the Petal Grid coverplate die

Next, I die cut the center of the ink blended panel and also die cut a white panel using the Lemon Blossom Crest die. I adhered the outer negative piece and the positive piece from the white die cut panel to a white cardbase then added the navy center piece from the ink blended panel to the middle of the card.

To create a starry-sky effect, I splattered white opaque ink over the dark navy center and scattered a few Gold Metallic Pearls.

For the shaker window, I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the die cut Lemon Blossom Crest and added 3mm foam tape to build the shaker wall.

As the shaker elements, I placed clear sequins in the center of the card and carefully adhered the shaker window on top.

The sentiment from the Lemon Blossom Crest Press Plate set was pressed in Detail Black, die cut, and added to the card with a gold mat peeking slightly from behind.

To finish the card, I added a Gold Metallic Pearl to the center of the bow and rounded the two bottom corners.

The second card features the Bloom & Buds suite. I created a one-layer watercolor card using  this beautiful large floral stamp set.

I started by cutting Premium Watercolor paper into an A2 panel and masking the edges with masking tape. I then stamped the Bloom & Buds image in Detail Black. I stamped the image again on pinter paper and fussy cut the flowers to use them as a mask over the first stamped image. I then stamped the second flower behind the first image. This time, I didn’t ink up the lower part of the stem because I wanted the two images to look slightly different. After stamping, I drew the rest of the stem by hand with a black fineliner.

Next, I watercolored the image using Premium Liquid Watercolors. For the flowers, I used Bubble Gum, Raspberry Bliss, Clementine and Sunshine. One flower was colored in pure pink tones, while the other was deepened with Clementine for a orange-pink look.

The greenery was painted with Grassy Knoll, Citron, Bay Leaf and Spanish Moss, and I also colored the flower centers in green. For the background, I added soft washes of Seaside and green around the floral images.

Once the watercoloring was finished, I removed the masking tape to reveal the clean white border. I then die cut the panel using the largest die from the Nested Rectangles Diagonal Stitch die set and adhered it to a white cardbase.

The sentiment is from the Bloom & Buds Press Plate set. I pressed it in Detail Black, die cut it, stacked it with three additional die cut layers for dimension, and added it to the card.

The finishing touch for this card was a few Ice Clear Drops.

  1. Love both of these! Such pretty colors on the flowers, but that dark background for the shaker card – it really makes the shaker bits pop! (and I would NEVER think of doing a dark color for the background…my brain just doesn’t seem to get that creative) – but it looks SO cool! Making a note to remember this idea!

  2. I am CRAZY about your projects! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. The deep blue ribbon against the yellow lemons? Perfection. And then the watercoloring?! I mean, come onnnnn it’s so good!!! I have all 3 sets of the Liquid Watercolors, and this has encouraged me to get them out again! <3

  3. Ooh 2 beautiful cards. Your first card with the striking blue background is awesome. Love your watercolour card too

  4. The card with the Lemon Blossom Crest is amazing. The navy bow really sets off the whole thing!! I love the background and it makes a stunning shaker. The Blooms & Buds card is also really a knockout!
