Hello everyone!
Today I have a very special card to share with you. My team mate in Pinkfresh Studio design team Lea Lawson is having a Fundraiser and Card Drive running in name of Leyton’s Legacy. Leyton is her son who lived his entire life in a NICU before passing away. Lea experienced first hand how hard it is to be a parent in the NICU, and decided to give a small comfort to parents who find themselves thrust into NICU life in honer of remembrance of her son, Layton. Please find more information about the fundraising and card drive on Lea’s blog.
Pinkfresh Studio has created a special stamp set called Forever in Our Hearts in honor of, and to benefit Layton’s Legacy. The stamp set includes a beautiful butterfly image and thoughtful sentiments for people who lost a pregnancy, baby or child . 5$ from every sale of this stamp set will be donated to Layton’s Legacy.
I made a sympathy card using Forever in Our Hearts stamp set.
First I created the background panel. I pressed Soft Lilac and Lavender ink on a clear acetate sheet, sprayed clear water and applied it on a watercolor paper panel. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result. I then stamped the Floral Cluster on it also in Soft Lilac and Lavender in an ombre fashion.
I then added darker shades where needed on the Floral Cluster image using the same purple inks. I used the inks like watercolor. To add the darkest shade in the petals I used Copic markers V01, 06 and 12. The leaves were colored in C1, C3 and V000.
After the coloring was done I splattered Lavender which was mixed with water on the panel and added lots of white splatters as well.
Next I gold heat embossed the butterfly from Forever in Our Hearts on a piece of watercolor paper and colored it using Pinkfresh Studio watercolors in Sunshine and Clementine. I cut it using the coordinating die and set it aside.
I decided to add a vellum panel on the background to tone it down. I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Forever in Our Hearts set on the vellum and cut it using a Diagonal Stitched rectangle die.
I cut the background panel using the large Diagonal Stitched rectangle die and foam mounted it on a kraft cardbase. The vellum panel was then adhered flat on it and the butterfly using some foam adhesives.
I finished off the card by scattering some yellow Crystals .
I hope I could show you the beauty of this stamp set and remind you of the great cause of Layton’s Legacy.
You can find all the infos about Layton’s Legacy Fundraiser and Card Drive and how to help this event on Lea’s blog !
