Today I’m honoured to guest design at the TIME OUT Challenge!
It was my very first participation at TIME OUT, when I linked up my card with blue poppies.
I was so lucky and my card was chosen as the winner of the challenge and on top of that I’ve got a chance to guest design at TIME OUT!!! Thank you so much, ladies!!!
I was so thrilled about that but also had self-doubt whether I can do guest design at TIME OUT,which so many talented crafters love.
Fortunately I had enough time for my brainstorming and in the end could come up with some cards, which I think are not that bad :). Because I have no stamps about halloween, my cards were created mostly with my Cricut.
I hope you like them.
This fortnight’s challenge at TIME OUT gose with this awesome inspiration photo.
I was thinking very simple and took each of the classy pumpkins with painted patterns on the photo for my halloween cards.
Here is my first card.
The first pumpkin with chevron:)!
I made a cutting file for the pumkin and wavy lines to split the top panel. I combined the sentiment with the same cutting file so I could have one top panel with everything I need. For the top panel I chose Bling CS Diamond from Bazzill and let my Cricut work.
For the chevron pattern, at first I blended Distress inks (ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade) on a white card base and applied Perfect Pearls mandarin on it with a brush. (You can find a tutorial for this faux metal paper technique on Jennifer Mcguire’s blog.) It shines beautifully in real life but I couldn’t catch the shine in the picture.
The chevron from Clearly Besotted was stamped with black pigment ink and clear heat embossed.
I mounted the top panel with foam tape on the card base and added three rhinestones for final touch.
My second card features the pumkin in diamond pattern.
For this card I used the same cutting file for pumkin but made an additional layer with slightly smaller pumpkin, which I cut out in black for outline. I arranged the pumkin offset and welded the sentiment (font: Powerhouse Era). The pumpkin was coloured in orange using the same technique like the first card. Before I applied the Perpect Pearls biscotti, I created black diamond pattern with a stencil I made for this pumpkin.
Lastly I mounted the layers as shown in the picture, added a thin glitter stripe (is actually for nail art, but I use it for my cards:)) and glued some rhinestones on the pumpkin.
