Today I have a card for the HLS September Sketch Challenge and Virginia’s View Challenge.
As I saw the sketch of the Happy Little Stampers on Gloria’s blog, it reminded me of traditional korean windows with wooden lattice. And I decided to try to make a card for the challenge.
At first I made a cutting file using the sketch as it is for the look of an wooden lattice, cut it with Cricut three times in white cardstock and cut once in kraft cardstock. I stamped woodgrain pattern on the kraft lattice in brown. The sentiment is stamped on the card base in black and clear heat embossed. I adhered the lattice in layer for some dimension on the card base. I then punched flowers out of a cardstock which I colored using colored pencils, curled up the petals and glued them on the card as shown in the picture. I chose orange instead of green from the sketch at HLS. I added glossy accents on the center of the flowers for some shine :).
I missed white korean traditional paper with subtle texture and stamps in korean. It would have been great if I could use some of them.
Here is the card.
Thank you for stopping by!
Wishing you a good start into September!
