Today I have the honour to be a guest designer over at Happy Little Stampers December CAS Challenge.
The theme for December’s Challenge over there is Use Your Favourite Technique.
I think we all have one or another favorite things to do during card making.

For me as a beginner in this crafting world I am still trying techniques I see on other crafter’s blogs. So it is hard to name a technique as my favourite:)
Because I use my Cricut for almost every card I make, I’ve picked “using Cricut” as my favourite technique for this challenge.

Here is what I came up with.

I’ve made a shaker christmas card in CAS style. To make this card I made cutting files for the scene. I create my cutting files using Inkscape, which is a free vector graphic editor.
Before I cut the front panel with cut out trees, I blended the bottom part of a white CS in light blue and dry embossed it using Wave EF from We R Memory Keepers. I then blended a small panel in various shades of green and brown Distress inks and cut the outline of the trees from it. The inner part of this cut was used as the background for the shaker window. I added silver dots on the window background using silver gel pen. I then mounted all the elements as shown in the picture. I filled the window with silver beads to give the card some christmas feelings.
The banner for the sentiment and the hill was cut from a CS which I blended in light green.
The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers’ Mixed Christmas Sentiments.
To finish off my card I adhered star sequins on the top of the trees.

I hope I could inspire you with my card to play along at HLS December CAS Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy crafting!
