Today I have a special post to share with you. I’m guest designing at The Foiled Fox again!
I’ve recently had a chance to play with this beautiful image from Penny Black for my GD post at The Foiled Fox. This stamp is called Melody Makers. The first card I made was an alcohol ink colored one. For today I watercolored the image using Color burst powders.

Let’s take a look!
To start off I stamped Melody Makers in Versafine black ink on Canson XL watercolor paper and colored it with Color Burst.
I used Peony for the flowers, Lime Green and Sap Green for the leaves and Lemon Yellow, Cerulean Blue, Orange and Tangerine for the birds. The background was colored in Cerulean blue and a little bit of Peony. I applied Micro Glaze on the panel which made it more vibrant.
The panel was cut with a Distressed Edges die from Spellbinders. I glued the frame flat on the cardbase and foam mounted the main panel onto the place.
The sentiment is from Grateful Heart by Penny Black. I gold heat embossed it on a parchment vellum, cut it using a circle die and Distressed Edges die I used for the colored panel and glued it onto the card. I drew the eyes using black and white glaze pens and added yellow dots using Pico Embellisher as the stamen of the flowers.
