Hello everyone! Hope you’re enjoying the first weekend of July!

The July challenge at The Flower Challenge has started today. Our theme for July is Summer/Winter (You can choose one of both seasons, depending on where you are living! ).

I chose Summer and for my DT card I used one of the digital stamps from Alex Syberia Design called Sunflower Close Up! It’s been so long since I used colored pencils for my card last time. So I wanted to color this delicate sunflower image using my colored pencils.

I changed the color of the Sunflower Close Up image into yellow on Word and printed it on a teal colored cardstock.

Work in Progress

I colored the sunflower using Luminance colored pencils. This one sentence took me more than four hours 🙂 . Even though I used lots of bright yellows and white pencil, the teal colored background is still showing through 🙁 . I also colored the background in various blue, teal and green colors using Prismacolor colored pencils.

I trimmed down the colored panel slightly smaller than A2 size and foam mounted it on a teal cardbase. I added tiny dots on the flower center using a white gel pen. I finished off the card by adhering my white die cut sentiment which was cut using Many Sentiments Coverplate die set by The Ton.

I had so much fun coloring using colored pencils again! Hope you enjoyed looking my card too 🙂 !

Thank you so much for looking!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

  3. This looks fabulous TaeEun and love the teal background and the bit of added colour you have given it, and the yellow printed sunflowers has been coloured beautifully and the slight blue hue that the flower and the leaves have from the background card looks magical. x

  4. TaeEun, I love the coloring of images on dark card stock, your sunflower looks stunning on the teal background, your pencil coloring of it is beyond amazing.
I kind of shy away from big images, I can never get the colors to blend well, I’m amazed at your pencil colored background, that is just so beautiful.
    Beautifully done.
    Hugs.
