Hello everyone!

It’s again Seize the Birthday Thursday! My team mate Shirley chose the Topping for the next fortnight and it’s TEXTURE! As always you may enter any birthday themed projects if you don’t want to take the Toppings option!

I added some texture to the background of my floral slimline card by dry embossing.

The stamps and dies I used are all from The Ton Stamps.

I started by heat embossing the floral butterfly and solo flowers and leaves from Transformation stamp set on some watercolor paper in Rose Gold embossing powder. I colored the images using Karin brush markers and cut them all using the coordinating dies.

To create the background panel I made a DIY stencil using Slimline Grid Coverplate die and ink blended a white slimline panel using the stencil in Hollywood Star, Soft Garden, Lemon Drop, Azurite and Warm Hazelnut. After the stenciling was done I dry embossed the panel with the same grid die to add texture.

I foam mounted the background panel on a white slimline cardbase and arranged the butterfly and floral elements on it as shown in the picture. The sentiment is from Wildflower Bits stamp set. I white heat embossed it on a piece of gray cardstock and cut it using a small Double Pierced Square die. I added two butterflies from my stash which were stamped using Kaleidoscope Butterflies stamp in Lemon Drop and Peach Blossom. I finished off the card with some Glass Slippers sequins.

That’s it from my side!

  1. What wonderful card TaeEun and I love the grid coverplate DIY stencilling in the background using lots of pretty colours and then embossing with the die too, and the flowers and butterflies embossed and beautifully coloured over the top. x

  2. This is so gorgeous TaeEun! love the soft colours you used too and the amazing design of course too. For the rose card you asked me about…..I made the circles digitally, then coloured the rose using pencils and it was on Linen card for some texture too HTH 😉 hugs Viv xx

  3. Amazing!! Loving the look of that colorful grid texture – looks like a fence through which the sky is peeking. And the flowers – as gorgeous as ever! Charming card, TaeEun!
