Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

A new challenge has started at The Flower Challenge today! The new theme for the month of September is ADD SPARKLE ! We all love sparkly floral cards, right ? 🙂

I made a Christmas card with a large sparkly red poinsettia. This card is featuring the Jumbo Poinsettia layering stencils and the coordinating die by The Ton.

To start I stenciled the Jumbo Poinsettia in red and orange. The stencil set has three layers. I inked the first layer in Lipstick Red and Coralline hybrid ink. I added the orange color to the tip of the petals (leaves). The second layer was stenciled in Pink Derby and Coral Cavern and the third layer in Wine. For the green center I used Matcha and Vineyard. I die cut the poinsettia and colored the white edge in a green pen.

To create the background I ink blended the perimeter of a white panel in Soft Garden and Basil Mojito and dry embossed the panel with a die from the Gingham Plaid coverplate die set. I splattered white ink on the background panel and adhered it on a white cardbase after it was dry.

The poinsettia was foam mounted on the card and the excessive parts were cut off. The sentiment is from the Ribbons Holiday set which was stamped in Basil Mojito and heat embossed in gold. I die cut the sentiment, foam mounted it on the card and added the gold heat embossed sub-sentiment to it. For more sparkle I scattered Emerald Green Opaque rhinestones.

That’s it from me for today! Now it’s your turn to play with some sparkly things!

  1. What a fabulous large poinsettia TaeEun, and a great idea to colour the white edges green to match the background, and the sparkle is so pretty as are the green gems. x

  2. TaeEun, this Poinsettia is amazing, I love the sparkle on the big petals and the bling of those green sequences, the background makes this beautiful flower stand out perfectly.
    Fabulous card, teammate!!
    Stay healthy and safe.
