Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you two gift tags and one mini card. To make them I used some new items from the Hello Sunshine 2023 collection by Penny Black.

For the tags I used the small images from the Bring Joy (30-978) and the Birthday Blooms (30-966) sets along with some die sets from previous releases.

The bear friends are from the Bring Joy (30-978) set. I stamped the image on a watercolor paper panel in a black pigment ink and watercolored it. Once done with coloring I heat embossed the “hello” from the Hello Builder (30-976) in white and stamped “MY FRIEND” in black.

I cut the panel with a die from the Hexagon Frames (51-640) die set which cuts a thin frame at the same time. I watercolored the frame in yellow, orange and green and let it dry.

I adhered the hexagon with the image and the frame on a white cardstock, cut the outline and punched a hole for a twine.

This balloon image is from the Birthday Blooms (30-966) set. I heat embossed it on a watercolor paper panel in silver and watercolored the image using brush markers. Next I fussy cut the image and set it aside.

To get a colorful background I watercolored a mixed media paper panel loosely in purple, pink, orange and yellow and let it dry. I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Builder set (30-973) in purple on the background panel and cut it using the note die from the A Pocket Full (51-053) die set. I cut one more note from some yellow cardstock and attached both pieces slightly tilted as shown in the picture.

Next I foam mounted the balloon image and added three iridescent sequins.

Next card is a mini card in a size of 3.5″ x 4.5″. The elegant and simple floral image is called Graceful (30-963).

I gold heat embossed the Graceful (30-963) on a watercolor paper panel and watercolored it. I colored the flowers in coral and the vase in navy blue. I fussy cut the image, but there is the Graceful Cut Out (51-770) !

I watercolored a mixed media paper panel in the same colors as the floral image and cut it using a die from the Ornate Frames (51-732) die set. To make the cardbase I cut two white panel and one blue panel using a larger die from the Ornate Frames (51-732). I adhered the top edge of the two white panels and attached the blue panel to the front of it.

Next I foam mounted the background panel and the floral image on the cardbase.

The sentiment is from the Thanks Builder (30-974) set. I stamped it in black and fussy cut. My finishing touch for this card was some sequins from the Coral Necklace Couture Mix by The Ton.

  1. Such pretty cards to enjoy over my first cuppa, TaeEun! Those furry little friend’s feet look like my husband’s favorite Christmas cookie with the Hershey’s Kiss in the center! hmmm I must be hungry?
Thanks for sharing your beautifully water-colored cards!

  2. The tags and shaped card are all so pretty and beautifully coloured as usual TaeEun, and love the unusual shape of the first with the cute bears and then the second with that super notecard edge, but I think my favourite is the third with the wonderful flowers and the clever way of making the die into a cardbase which works brilliantly. x
