Hello and happy Friday, everyone!

Today I’m sharing a fresh floral card on the Pinkfresh Studio Card Blog. I created a floral scene with the Bluebonnet Bliss and Butterfly Bliss product suites, along with the Double Stitched Elongated Oval die from the new Release. I love how the butterflies add a dreamy, scenic touch to this clean floral design!

To begin, I hot foiled the Bluebonnet Bliss image onto a white A2 panel using turquoise foil. I then cut the panel into three parts using the Double Stitched Elongated Oval die set – the outer negative piece, a central oval panel, and a slim oval frame.

With the central oval piece, I brought the bluebonnets to life using the coordinating stencils. I chose soft blues and purples—Sky Blue, Summer Shower, and Lavender—for the blooms, and blended Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll, and Eucalyptus for the greenery. Once the stenciling was done, I softly ink blended both the colored panel and the outer negative piece using Sky Blue and Lavender to create a dreamy background. A light spritz of water added a watercolor-like effect. I smushed Sky Blue and Lavender inks onto an acetate sheet, diluted them with a bit of water, and splattered the color across the ink-blended sections. Once dry, I adhered the outer piece and the stenciled oval flat onto a white card base and then foam mounted the white oval frame.

Next, I hot foiled the butterflies from Butterfly Bliss set in turquoise and stenciled them using Sky Blue and Lavender, with a touch of Peach Fuzz added to the bodies and to the small accents on the wings. After die cutting them, I gently curved their wings to give a bit of lift and adhered two butterflies to the card, allowing them to flutter softly above the bluebonnets.

The sentiment from the Butterfly Bliss Press Plate was pressed in Opulence, die cut, and added to the card. A few Sky Blue Jewels were scattered across the design and the card was done!

  1. Another prettily coloured lupin TaeEun and I love the way you have very cleverly extended the stalk and lower leaves over the oval frame and onto the background, and of course the beautiful added butterflies, and then the ink blended background, and all the pieces with the coordinated finishing double stitched edge, and embellished with the pretty gems and a lovely sentiment… a wonderful card. x

  2. Beautiful card! I really love the colours and the way you overlayed the floral outline on the frame!
